Upscale every moment and take your viewing to a new level with Samsung’s latest flagship TVs

We’re in a golden age of television, with streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV Plus bringing out a new must-see boxset or movie every week.

And sports fans have a bumper summer of action to look forward to, with Euro 2024 kicking off next month and the Paris Olympics following hot on its heels in July.

Handily, Samsung has just revealed its lineup of flagship TVs for the year, and all three of them are five-star triumphs as you can see from our reviews. Whether you opt for the OLED S95D, the Neo QLED 4K QN95D or the Neo QLED 8K QN900D, you can’t go wrong.

Here are six reasons to upgrade to one of Samsung’s flagship TVs this summer.

1. Clever AI tricks to elevate your viewing experience

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming all branches of consumer technology and televisions are no exception. Samsung’s TV AI is thoughtful, well-implemented and gimmick-free, making a difference to your viewing experience without you even knowing it.

The NQ4 AI Gen2 processor powering the S95D and QN95D uses 20 neutral networks to optimise both audio and visuals. Brightness, contrast, motion and sound are all boosted for a 4K experience that’s second to none.

The 8K QN900D gets an even more advanced chip: the NQ8 AI Gen3. It not only enhances the picture and sound as above, but has a couple of extra tricks up its sleeve for fans looking to see every moment of sport this summer.

Not only does it do an excellent job of upscaling lower-resolution content to 8K, but AI Motion Enhancer Pro eliminates motion blur on news tickers and fast-moving objects like footballs by replacing images on a frame-by-frame basis in real-time. It’s extraordinarily advanced stuff.

2. Superb picture quality across the range

Whichever model you end up with, Samsung’s commitment to panel quality means you’re going to end up with an incredible picture, with the company promising sharp, bright images that are sure to draw you in, whatever you’re watching.

Both the QN95D and QN900D use tens of thousands of Mini LEDs to illuminate the screen with fantastic brightness, providing impeccable colour contrast, superb HDR and a vivid picture, even during daytime viewing.

The 8K QN900D massively increases the number of pixels for the sharpest image possible. 8K means a resolution of 7,680 x 4,320: which translates to 33 million pixels – and significantly more than 4K’s 8.3 million.

For some, only OLED will do, though, and if you’re of that view, then you’re in for a real treat with the S95D… Samsung QN77S95DAFXZA advertorial - TV on white background

3. Infinite contrast with Samsung’s first glare-free OLED panel

OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) TVs are often seen as the cinephile’s choice because each pixel is self-illuminating and can be turned off to create absolute black and infinite contrast. As a result, OLEDs reproduce dark scenes particularly well and this, combined with Samsung’s Pantone-validated colour accuracy, helps deliver stunningly realistic pictures.

Historically OLED TVs have suffered from glare, which is a pain for well-lit rooms, but with the S95D, Samsung has introduced its first glare-free OLED panel.

With the latest flagship OLED, the company has reduced screen glare to the degree that you no longer need to worry about closing the curtains or shifting seats. Whether it’s a late-night movie or a midday match, your experience will always be stellar.

4. Incredible sound out of the box

You don’t need an expensive surround sound system to enjoy brilliant audio. All three of Samsung’s flagship TVs are packed with tech to ensure your shows sound as good as they look.

The QN900D has a staggering 6.2.4-channel speaker layout, while both the QN95D and S95D use impressive 4.2.2-channel arrangements. Their up-firing speakers enable the height effects of Dolby Atmos soundtracks to be delivered in an immersive manner, while Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound Pro technology helps ensure audio follows the action on screen. Whether it’s the crowd cheering around you, fireworks going off overhead or dialogue coming from an actor’s mouth, OTS Pro accurately positions the sound to enhance immersion.

Once again, AI is working behind the scenes here. Your Samsung TV will optimise the audio for the space your TV occupies and the content you’re watching. Dialogue is prioritised over background noise and you’ll hear every important detail with perfect clarity.

To take it to the next level, a Samsung soundbar is the way to go. With the brand’s Q-Symphony technology, the soundbar will work in perfect harmony with your TV’s speakers, providing exceptional sound from both in tandem.

5. Stylish, ultra-thin, flexible designs to catch the eye

Samsung’s latest TVs are not only brilliant on the inside, they’re beautiful to look at too. Impossibly thin profiles blend seamlessly into your space and the barely visible bezels ensure that you get the most screen possible.

And if aesthetics are all important, with the S95D and QN900D you can keep unsightly wires out of the way with the optional One Connect Box. This manages all your connections via a single wire, letting you keep your other cables hidden up to 2.5 metres away (or even in a cupboard). 6. Samsung Tizen OS brings smarts, security and games to your living room

At the heart of Samsung’s flagship TVs is the brilliantly intuitive Tizen OS, which puts the ‘smart’ in ‘smart TV’.

It’s not just about packing in all the streaming apps you could want. Like to multitask on your phone? Multi View lets you mirror your phone screen alongside whatever you’re watching on the big screen.

Are you a gamer? Not only do all Samsung’s flagships come with HDMI 2.1 ports for smooth 120Hz play with no screen tearing, but if you don’t have a console, the Gaming Hub will let you stream titles from services like Xbox Game Pass and Nvidia GeForce NOW straight to your TV.

Thanks to SmartThings, Tizen can also be the centre of your smart home, letting you control thousands of compatible lights, doorbells, cameras, thermostats, plugs and more from your living room.

With so much of your life accessible from your TV, you’ll want world-class security, and that’s where Samsung Knox comes in. Popularised by Samsung’s best-selling smartphones, Knox offers multi-layered security to block harmful attacks and ensure your sensitive data is protected at all times.
