Panasonic Viera TX-L32G20B review
If it were considerably cheaper this would be a great TV, but as it is, the G20 is overpriced for a 32in TV.
Specifications
32in, Freesat HD, Freeview HD, analogue, 1,920×1,080 resolution, 3D: , 4x HDMI
Unfortunately, the G20 suffers the same problem as the D28: relatively poor standard definition quality. Textures such as brickwork, grass and hair lacked detail and artefacts were clearly visible. Compared to other HD TVs which do a pretty good job of cleaning up Freeview broadcasts, the G20 doesn’t. The problems aren’t too noticeable if you’re sitting 10 feet away, but any closer and you begin to notice the problems. By contrast, HD quality is excellent. Whether watching high definition TV broadcasts or Blu-ray movies, details were exceptionally sharp.
While the quality of the IPS LCD panel is very good, it’s not enough along with the G20’s other features to justify the high price. To put things into context, the 42in version of the G20, which has a superb-quality plasma panel, costs only £60 more from Amazon.co.uk, while the previous model (the TX-P42G10) costs £50 less from Play.com. While not everyone wants a large TV, it’s clear that the TX-L32G20B isn’t great value. Unless you can find it significantly cheaper, there’s no reason to buy it.
