Eminent Twistable 1.5m HDMI Cable review
An innovative product, which can help keep other cables neat, and at a reasonable price.
We don’t tend to review HDMI cables, partly because we believe that as long as they conform to the LLC HDMI Compliance Test Specification, they should deliver an error-free image to your TV.
However, we’ve made an exception for Eminent’s HDMI 1.3b1 cable as it holds its shape when you bend it. You can coil it around other cables as a sort of cable tidy, or simply bend it around corners for a neat appearance.
It’s worth noting that Eminent also sells twistable USB cables as well as SCART, phono, minijack and VGA versions in various lengths.
As expected, we saw no difference in quality when hooking our reference Blu-ray player up to our reference LCD TV compared to our budget HDMI cable. This comes as no surprise considering the cable’s short 1.5m length.
The only problem is the price. Although it’s not as expensive as some HDMI cables, for only a little more you can buy an HDMI 1.4a cable (for 3D and Ethernet) while those on a budget can expect to pay as little as £2 for a cable this length.
