Best Boxing Day deals 2024: LIVE bargains in technology, home and garden
We've sorted the true discounts from the dud deals so that you get the best bargains this Boxing Day
It may get stiff competition from other sales periods these days (Black Friday, I’m looking at you) but when it comes to the traditional bargain hunter, the Boxing Day sales are the high point of their year.
2024 is proving to be no exception, and we’ve spotted some very exciting deals, particularly on TVs, laptops, mattresses and bedding, vacuum cleaners, audio gear and smartphones, as retailers and manufacturers clear the decks to make way for all the new launches expected in early 2025.
As always, when it comes to sales periods, it can be difficult to know whether the deals you find are indeed the best for your wallet, or if some clever price adjusting just before the discount lands means it’s not quite the bargain that’s advertised. That’s where the team here at Expert Reviews has your back. Our decades-long experience of bargain hunting means we’re professionals when it comes spotting deals. Therefore, we will only recommend a deal if it is truly worth your time, as we compare a product’s deal price to its average total across the whole time it’s been available to buy
We will also only recommend products that we’ve reviewed and rated highly, or have bought and owned ourselves.
So without further ado, here are our favourite deals that are currently available. Simply scroll down the page or click one of quick links below to jump to the relevant section:

Motorola Edge 50 Pro (Was £599, now £399)
Motorola’s top-end handsets may not swim in quite the same rarified waters as such uber-flagships as the Samsung Galaxy S24 and iPhone 16… but they offer many of the same features while costing a lot less. Take the latest Edge 50 Pro, which packs super-fast 125W charging, a sumptuous curved 6.7in OLED 2,712 x 1,220 display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Motorola’s very useful Ready For desktop mode.
Performance from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor may look a little lacking in benchmark terms, but in the real world the Edge 50 Pro has all the performance you’ll ever need and the cream on the cake is the current asking price of just £399 down the the usual £599. That’s budget phone money for a nigh-on flagship device and is worth serious consideration if you don’t want to tie yourself into a three-year £50+ contract just to get some extra performance that in all likelihood you will never need or use.
Motorola Moto G85 (Was £299, now £199)
It’s been twelve years since Motorola — then owned by Google — launched the first Moto G phone and proved that a cheap Android phone didn’t have to be garbage. The latest and greatest Moto G, the G85 is a proud bearer of that same banner offering a 120Hz 6.67in pOLED 2,400 x 1,080 display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor and 256GB of storage for just £299 SIM-free and unlocked. That’s a tasty enough offering but for a limited time, Motorola is selling the G85 for just £199 which is insane value (the original and far less capable Moto G cost £135 in 2013 for comparison which equals about £190 today).
The design, build quality and speaker system could all grace a phone costing twice as much and while the camera can’t match the latest flagships the 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and 32MP selfie camera do a darn good job in decent light. Spend even a little time with the G85 and you’ll wonder about the sanity of paying any more for a smartphone.
Google Pixel 8a (Was £443, now £352)
Sadly, the Pixel 8 Pro deal that’s been doing the rounds for a little while appears to be out of stock at most (if not all) retailers, but here’s the next best thing. Its smaller sibling, the Pixel 8a, is just as fully featured as its pricier counterpart yet it’s a heck of a lot cheaper. Right now, you can pick it up for just £318 in Obsidian, or black to you and me!
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (Avg £336, now £251)
If you’re on a tight budget but don’t want to compromise, our smartphone expert Ben Johnston recommends the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. It’s “the best sub-£400 phone [I’ve] tested this year”, according to Ben, and right now it’s just £269. The absolute lowest we’ve ever seen it is £251 over Black Friday, but this nevertheless represents great value for money.
Anker MagGo 10K Wireless Powerbank (was £90, now £60)
Aimed primarily at iPhone users, the Anker MagGo 10K wireless charger leverages Apple’s magnetic charging coupler to securely connect your iPhone to the powerpack without the need for a cable. The bank even has a handy kickstand so you can use it to prop up your phone. Of course, Android phone owners can still charge their phones using the 15W Qi2 wireless charger or the USB-C cable and all users can take advantage of the very handy built-in screen, which gives you the power bank’s current charge level and tells you how long it’s going to last. Unlike some lesser brands of powerpack, Anker devices usually support the advertised capacity, so when you buy 10,000mAh you can be confident that’s what you’ll get. An easy recommendation.
Asus Zenbook S16 Laptop
(Was £1,599, now £1,299)
A very strong contender for the accolade of the best laptop of 2024, the Asus Zenbook S16 is beautiful to behold. Superbly engineered using Asus’ funky ceraluminium coating, it has a truly outstanding OLED screen and is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 9 AI chipset which includes the potent new 880/890M integrated GPUs. Battery life is very good at over 14 hours, easily holding its own against the best of the competition running on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon or Intel’s Lunar Lake processors. Right now Asus is offering a £300 discount on the Ryzen 9 HX365 model and £200 on the top-of-the-line HX370 model we reviewed, tracking the prices down to an eminently reasonable £1,499 and £1,299 respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge Laptop
(Was £849, now £599)
Samsung’s Galaxy Book4 Edge earned a solid four stars in our review. And while it’s got stiff competition from the 2024 crop of Snapdragon-powered CoPilot+ Windows laptops, for just £599 in Curry’s post-Christmas sale-gasm, it’s outstanding value for money. This model makes do with a 15.6in FullHD IPS rather than a 16in 2.8K OLED display and there’s only 256GB of eUFS storage but the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 chipset gives it plenty of poke. For under £600, it’s an absolute steal.
Apple MacBook Air 13.6in M2 Laptop (Was £996, now £749)
MacBook Airs running on the 2022 M2 chipset may lack the absolute grunt of the latest M3 models but for the majority of users that simply won’t be an issue as the M2 model is plenty fast enough for most everyday use. And while a new M3 13.6 Air will set you back over a grand you can now pick up an M2 machine for just £749 down from £996 which is a pittance for a laptop that has always been, and remains, the doyen of ultra-slim ultra-compact laptops. When we reviewed this very Apple MacBook Air 13.6in M2 back in 2022, we awarded it a full five stars.
Dell XPS 16 Laptop (Was £2,899, now £2,449)
Dell’s radical XPS design language is very consumer tech marmite: You’ll either love it or hate it. The zero-lattice keyboard and capacitive Fn key row either push the laptop aesthetic in bold new directions or are a pointless effort to reinvent the wheel depending on your point of view. We tend towards the latter and think Dell deserves a pat on the noggin for bravery. The daddy of the XPS range complete with an Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, 16.3in FullHD display and an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU is now on sale for £2,449, a £350 discount so you can have a potent and beautiful laptop without breaking the bank.
HP Pavilion SE 14 Laptop (Was £599, now £429)
The HP Pavilion SE 14 is the answer to the question “What’s the cheapest Windows 11 laptop I can buy and not instantly regret it”? Running on an Intel Core i5 1335U CPU with Xe graphics and 8GB of RAM the underpinnings are surprisingly powerful and up-to-date for such a cheap laptop. The 14in FullHD IPS display won’t win any awards but it’s not as bad as you might expect and the keyboard is pretty decent too. The cherry on the cake is the price: Right now you can pick it up for £429, a saving of £170 on the usual price, which is peanuts for a competent Windows notebook with no serious flaws.
TV deals
Samsung Q80D 50-inch Mini LED 4K TV (Was £999, now £599)
Proof that you can get a really good 4K 50in TV for well under £1,000, the Samsung Q80D uses Quantum Dot colours, direct LED backlighting with local dimming and is powered by Samsung’s latest Neo Quantum 4 Gen 2 processor. Add to that extensive gaming support with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for AMD FreeSync, Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound audio system with 2.2 sound and the latest Tizen OS smart system and you’ve got a telly to be reckoned with.
When it comes to HDR performance the the Q80D can hit 1,000cd/m2 which is very rare at this sort of price. Available 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85in versions the smallest can be picked up from AO.com for just £599 at the time of writing making it superb value. If you want something rather larger, the 85in model is on sale at £1,849 down from an RRP of £2,999.
TCL C645K 65in 4K TV (Was £599, now £478)
If you are after a big, cheap but quite good telly, then you could do a lot worse than pick one from TCL’s Android TV-powered C645K range, all of which feature a 60Hz VA panel with a direct LED backlight combined with quantum dot filters. You can pick from a range of sizes between 43 and 85in.
The pick of the bunch is the 65in 65C645K model, which we found to offer excellent picture quality for the money even at the standard price of £579. Head over to Amazon and the same model is yours for just £478 making it even better value. Impressively for a budget TV, the TCL boasts a very low input lag of only 10ms making it a good bet for gamers who want a big panel to connect to their consoles. If you have the space the 85in model is on offer with a 43% discount at £849.
LG C44LA 77in 4K Ultra HD OLED Smart TV (Was £3,499, now £2,699)
If you’re after a truly high-end TV you can’t do much better than to pick something from LG’s C44 LA lineup. Each model is built around a quality 3,840 x 2,160 OLED panel that can refresh at a maximum of 144Hz making it perfect for anyone wanting to use their TV for serious gaming. LG’s Magic Remote remains the coolest controller around, with an onscreen pointer for quick, easy and intuitive navigation, while the design and build quality are both top-notch. Pricey the C44 LA TVs may be, but you do feel like you are getting your money’s worth. The WebOS 24 operating system is also one of the best you’ll find on a TV. AO currently has the 77in model on sale for £2,699, an £800 saving on the regular price of £3,499.
Philips OLED759 (Was £1,099, now £783)
How about an OLED telly for less than a grand? These deals are harder to come by but the Philips OLED759 has received its first major price drop since launch, dipping to just £783 down from an RRP of £1,099. Our TV expert, John Archer, called it a “feature-packed and appealing option for the money” in his review, giving it a four-star score and a Recommended award. This is even lower than its Black Friday discount price of £849 – a further £66 saving, to be exact.
Panasonic W60 (Was £349, now £290)
If you’re after the cheapest telly we recommend this Boxing Day, especially if you’re looking for a second TV for the bedroom, then you can do a lot worse than this Panasonic W60 deal. With £59 knocked off the usual price, this Freely TV provides on-demand and live TV without the need for a set-top box or aerial.
Anker Soundcore Space One headphones (Was £90, now £65)
Quite a few of our reviewers will tell you that Anker’s Soundcore Space Ones are the best pair of noise-cancelling headphones you can get for under £100 both for looks and sound quality. That’s a hard opinion to argue with because the Space Ones are comfortable, stylish and well-made and produce a nicely balanced and full sound. More importantly for some users, the companion app lets you access a wide range of audio modifiers and the noise cancellation system is quite as good as that on some headphones costing twice as much. Right now you can get the Space Ones from Amazon for just £65, which makes them one heck of a bargain.
Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Cancelling wireless over-ear headphones (Was £379, now £245)
If you are looking for a pair of over-ear cans that prioritise sound quality, effective noise cancelling and comfort then the Expert Reviews Best Buy winning Sony WH-1000XM5 are a good place to start. The the MDR-1000X range has been a critical and commercial hit since it was launched in 2017. Audio performance is excellent no matter what your state in music while the ANC system is uncannily good. As for comfort, well, these are amongst the few headphones you can wear for hours on end without any discomfort. Right now Amazon has them at a 35% discount which makes them a no-brainer for anyone looking for some high-end wireless cans.
Denon AH-C830NCW Bluetooth earbuds (Was £139, now £69)
Denon’s first true wireless earbuds impressed us with their clean and detailed sound and solid noise cancellation performance but for the price — £139 at the time of review — we thought they were rather lacking in the features department with no EQ settings or companion app. But now you can pick them up from Richer Sounds in black for under £70 once you’ve joined the store’s free VIP Club. It’s an amazing price that makes these bare-bones Denons very strong competitors when it comes to sound quality per £ outlay.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 USB-C (Was £213, now £179)
In the words of our very own Head of Reviews, Jon Bray: “This is the best actual deal on headphones I’ve seen so far, I reckon”. If that isn’t praise enough, I don’t know what is. The best earbuds for iPhone users, the introduction of USB-C charging to the already tremendous AirPods Pro 2 was a welcome step for convenience, not to mention the improved audio quality being the cherry on top of an already incredibly appealing package. They’ve been at this first-ever discount price of £179 since Black Friday, and remain an absolute steal in our eyes.
Soundcore Motion Boom Plus Bluetooth Boombox (Was £170, now £120)
Anker’s Soundcore sub-brand has evolved into a solid range of affordable portable audio devices that offer good value for money. The Motion Boom Plus Bluetooth Boombox doesn’t have the audio chops to keep the engineers at Bowers & Wilkins awake at night but it’s loud, tuneful, has a built-in microphone so you can use it as a speakerphone and is completely dustproof and waterproof. It will even float if you accidentally drop it into the swimming pool or the bath. The Motion Boom Plus is well worth consideration at the regular price of £170 but right now it’s on offer at Amazon for £120 which is unbeatable dB per £ offer.
B&O Beosound A1 (2nd Gen) Bluetooth Speaker (Was £259, now £152)
Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound A1 (2nd Gen) mini Bluetooth speaker was launched four years ago so it’s a testament to the quality of B&O’s design and engineering that it’s still amongst the very best device in its class. The Beosound A1 serves up superb sound, supports the AAC and aptX codecs and can happily run for 24 hours in a charge even at high volume levels. Belying its diminutive size and weight — just 558g — the Beosound A1 contains a 3.5in woofer and 0.6in tweeter powered by two 30W Class D amplifiers and can fill a large room with music without breaking into a sweat. Cost has always been an issue with the A1 but not any more because you can now snaffle one from Amazon for £152, a 41% discount on the usual price of £259.
Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet (Was £99, now £50)
The latest 8in Fire HD tablet from Amazon didn’t entirely blow our socks off when we reviewed it, but for £99 it’s still the best budget Android — well, Android-ish — tablet on the market. Just as well then that Amazon is now punting it at half-price or £50. At that sort of money we’re more than happy to forgive the fact that Amazon’s FireOS 8 is based on Android 11 rather than the latest incarnation (Android 15). If all you want is a tablet for is streaming video and reading your Kindle books, then for this price the Fire HD 8 cannot be beaten.
Asus ProArt PZ13 Tablet (Was £1,199, now £699)
Here’s a truly stunning deal on a Windows tablet that was only released back in July. Asus’ ProArt PZ13 boasts a glorious and very accurate 13.3in 2,880 x 1,620 OLED display that boasts DisplayHDR True Black and Pantone certification. It runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 and comes with 1TB of storage, 16GB of RAM and a detachable keyboard. Despite weighing just 880g and being just 9mm thick, Asus’ engineers have still found room for a 70Wh battery that can deliver over 12 hours of runtime.
Even at the usual asking price of £1,199 the Pro Art PZ13 is a highly desirable piece of kit, but for £699 it’s laughably cheap and is the automatic first choice if you want a Windows hybrid detachable for serious media consumption and creation.
Honor Pad 9 (Was £300, now £220)
It’s hardly a secret that Android tablets are not as omnicompetent as their iOS counterparts. But if you’re eyebrows-deep in the Google Android ecosystem and just want something for media consumption and comms then there are plenty of good ‘droid tablets to choose from. One of the best is the powerful Honor Pad 9 which comes complete with a large and rather fine 120Hz 2.5K 12.1in IPS screen and a seriously low price tag.
Right now you can get the Pad 9 direct from Honor for £220 without a keyboard or £240 with. That’s excellent value in both cases.
Tefal EasyFry Dual Zone air fryer (Was £146, now £100)
Our air fryer expert, Jamie Stedmond, spent an entire week using this air fryer to cook his main meals, and was “impressed with the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer’s versatility, performance and healthy cooking”. If you fancy replicating the experience, you can currently pick one up for its lowest-ever price on Amazon, going for just £100 – that’s £46 less than average price.
Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer AF300UK (Was £199, now £149)
Nobody would seriously listen to music in mono rather than stereo these days, so why buy a mono air fryer when the Expert Reviews five-star rated Ninja Foodi Dual Zone lets you cook in two channels simultaneously? With two 3.8-litre cooking baskets, each with its own digital timer, the Ninja Foodi lets you simultaneously serve up a whopping 7.6 litres of grub even if they require wildly different cooking times.
Neither basket has a stirring paddle but this didn’t impact the cooking consistency as much as we feared; chips still came out remarkably uniform even if not given a quick shake mid-fry thanks to the magic Max Crisp feature. It’s only downside is that it’s a bit of a big lump which may be an issue for the small-of-kitchen. At the moment AO.com is selling it at a 25% discount for just £149 but remember man can’t live by chips alone… or can he?
Our Place Wonder Oven (Was £195, now £155)
A TikTok viral sensation, the Our Place Wonder Oven is currently £155. That’s down from the launch price of £195 – or £40 off. We saw it reach just £150 over Black Friday, so we’ll wait to see We gave it four stars and a Recommended award in our original review, with air fryer expert, Danielle Amato, being particularly fond of its design and ease of use.
Ninja DoubleStack XL (Was £270, now £200)
The Ninja DoubleStack XL – our favourite space-saving air fryer – has received yet another price drop since the Black Friday sales. Beating its previous record price by £30, it’s now only £200. If you ask me, that’s the best price you’re going to see for quite some time.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop (Was £76, now £54)
Coffee machines won’t get much cheaper than this over the Boxing Day sales. Admittedly, it isn’t quite the cheapest it’s ever been, but the Nespresso Vertuo Pop, which we gave four stars and a Recommended award in our review last year, is now only £54.
De’Longhi Magnifica S Smart (Was £480, now £309)
A compact, sturdily built coffee machine with a wide range of settings, the De’Longhi Magnifica S Smart is now £58 off over at Currys. Going from £480 to £309, that’s the best price we’ve seen so far.
Shark Stratos (Was £449, now £300)
“A cordless stick that smells as good as it vacuums”. If that isn’t a glowing recommendation, I don’t know what is – and it’s a verdict that comes from our vacuum cleaner expert, Andy Shaw, so you know it’s legit. The Shark Stratos vacuum cleaner is unique in that it releases perfumed fragrances as you clean, and it can be yours for just £300, down from £449.
Origin Hybrid mattress (Was £629, now £459)
You can expect plenty of mattress deals over the course of the Boxing Day sales and this Origin Hybrid deal is the one of the first that’s come through that we recommend. It earned an Expert Reviews recommended award in our five-star review, in fact, and now that it’s 45% off (a king size for £459), this isn’t a deal you should sleep on (or you should, I guess).
Simba Hybrid Pro king-size mattress (RRP £1,249, now £937)
We saw our five-star rated and best mattress favourite the Simba Hybrid Pro drop as low as £934 for a king size over Black Friday. And while it currently costs £3 more, we think £937 is a price worth paying for a mattress we found to be one of the comfiest we’ve ever had the pleasure to test – in whichever sleeping position you prefer.
Our reviewer was particularly impressed with the top wool layer, which offered better temperature regulation than the foam used in most hybrids. Its extra layer of microsprings (compared to the original Simba Hybrid), makes it both bouncy and more breathable. In fact, our reviewer liked it so much that they didn’t want to go back to using their everyday mattress. One last bonus is a 200-night trial, which is double that offered by some of its rivals.
Otty Pure Hybrid Bamboo mattress (Was £850, now £700)
If you’re a hot sleeper and after a mattress with excellent temperature regulation, then this Otty Pure Hybrid Bamboo mattress saving might be right up your street. Earning a full five stars and a Best Buy award in our original review, the Otty Pure Hybrid Bamboo mattress also provided terrific edge support. It can be yours for just £700 in king size, down from £850.
Oral B Pro 3 3500 toothbrush (RRP £100, average £40, now £35)
Our ‘Best for most people’ electric toothbrush usually retails at around £40-£45, but this is the lowest price we’ve seen it at, period. We rate its durable and sleek design that’s easy to keep clean, and the dependable and familiar timer, which pauses every 30 seconds to prompt you to move it to another part of your mouth. .
Yes, it’s not got the bells and whistles of pricier toothbrushes, but delivers a top quality clean in all three modes – Sensitive, Daily Clean and Whitening. Battery life is almost the best of any rotary brush on the market, second only to the pricier Oral-B iO3. For £35, it’s a no brainer buy.
Oral B iO3 (Was £96, now £60)
Are you looking for our top pick amongst the toothbrush crowd? The Oral B iO3 was awarded Best Electric Toothbrush in our Product of the Year awards last year, and it still holds up as one of the best around. It has fantastic battery life in our tests and quiet, effective cleaning for the price, and down from an average of £96.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 (Was £208, now £108)
Fancy something flashier? Our favourite high-end SoniCare toothbrush, the DiamondClean 9000, is cheaper than ever at just £108. In our tests, we found that it offers the most powerful clean that Philips brushes offer, and we liked its app connectivity with pressure sensitivity alerts.
Blink Mini 2 (Was £28, now £17.49)
Cheap security cameras don’t get as good as this, especially with this new Black Friday discount. The Blink Mini 2 is our favourite budget security cam, with a dinky weather-resistant design, superb image quality and a handy spotlight feature. It’s now less than £18, which is pretty darn cheap and the lowest it’s ever been.
Ring Battery Video Doorbell (2024) (Was £99, now £70)
The Battery Doorbell from Amazon-owned Ring is almost the default purchase for anyone wanting to drag their front door answering solution into the twenty-first century. The new 2024 incarnation boasts a sharp 1,440 x 1,440 wide-angle video feed that can see packages on your doorstep and good battery life though as always to get the best from it you’ll need to take out a Ring subscription plan.
You’d be mad to pay the full £99 for the Ring Battery so it’s just as well that it’s currently on offer for just £70 which is about as cheap as it gets away from the annual Black Friday consumer frenzy.
