How to cancel Sky TV
In order to cancel your Sky TV subscription, you’ll need to give Sky 31 days notice, unless you are within your cooling off period.
Sky offers a cooling-off period of 31 days, meaning you have the right to cancel Sky TV, without giving any reason, any time up to 31 days following delivery, installation or written confirmation of the terms and conditions of your product.
However, if you’re cancelling your Sky TV subscription outside of the cooling-off period, you may need to pay an early termination charge to cover your minimum contract length. This is usually 12 or 18 months. Sky will let you know if you need to pay any early termination charges.
There are a number of ways you can contact Sky in order to cancel your subscription. If you want to speak to someone over the phone, you can call 03337593022.
Be warned, however, that you may incur some charges by calling this number, and it’s likely to be a lengthy discussion. Sky won’t want you to cancel your TV subscription and they will try and talk you out of it, so it is a good idea to prepare for this.
You can also email Sky at mysky@sky.co.uk or — if you fancy something more old school — send a letter to Sky Subscribers Services Ltd, PO Box 43, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 7DD.
Best alternative to Sky TV: Now TV
If you still want to enjoy all of your favourite Sky TV content without being tied down to a long-term contract, then your best option is to get a Now TV Pass. This streaming subscription service, from Sky, basically lets you pick and choose what Sky content you want to watch and get it in the form of affordable monthly contracts.
While you won’t be able to access Now TV via your Sky Q Box, you can stream content instantly on over 60 devices, including your PC, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, gaming consoles, some Smart TVs and even special Now TV Smart Sticks that you can connect to your TV and control with a special remote.
Now TV has five passes depending on what you want to watch:
- Now TV Entertainment Pass (£9/mnth) gives you access to over 300 Sky TV Box Sets, including every episode of Game of Thrones, the new hit series The Outsider, and every episode of the latest season of Westworld. It comes with a seven-day trial and you can cancel at any time.
- Now TV Sky Cinema Pass (£12/mnth) gives you over 1,000 movies on-demand, including all the latest Sky Cinema blockbusters as soon as they’re available on Sky Movies.
- Now TV Sky Sports Pass has four options, of which the Monthly Pass (£34/mnth) is the most expensive, and the Sky Sports Monthly Mobile Pass (£6/mnth) is the cheapest.
The other two passes are the Now TV hayu Pass that provide over 5,000 episodes of reality TV (KUWTK anyone?) and the Now TV Kids Pass, which will keep your little ones entertained for hours with over 1,000 ad-free episodes. Both these passes cost £4/mnth and you can cancel at any time.

How to cancel Sky Broadband
To cancel Sky Broadband, you’ll need to give Sky 14 days’ notice unless you’re still within the cooling-off period (31 days, as with Sky TV).
As before, early termination charges may apply if you cancel your Sky Broadband before the end of the minimum contract period.
If you’re switching to another broadband provider, you can usually make the switch without needing to contact Sky. The exceptions are if you’re switching to Virgin Media, BT Ultrafast Fibre or FTTP broadband, in which case you should contact Sky in the same way as you would to cancel Sky TV.

How to cancel Sky Mobile
By now, a familiar pattern should be presenting itself. Unless you’re still within your cooling-off period, you’ll need to give Sky 31 days’ notice in order to cancel your Sky Mobile service. Again, if you’re within your minimum contract period, early termination charges will apply.
If you wish to switch mobile providers, you can request a PAC (if you want to keep your number) or a STAC (if you don’t want to keep your number), and give it to your new provider. To get these codes, text “PAC” followed by your date of birth (DDMMYYYY) to 65075, or “STAC” followed by your date of birth to 75075. Your text should look something like this: PAC12011997.
If you simply want to place a cancellation notice, contact Sky by phone, mail or email — just as you would if you were cancelling Sky TV or Broadband.
