Amazon’s got a Cyber Monday bargain on the Apple iPad
Get the 9.7in iPad with 128GB of storage and 4G connectivity for £399
Apple’s iPad range offers the best tablet experience money can buy, often leagues ahead of Android equivalents, but they are mostly more expensive than their rivals. However, Amazon has sliced a healthy £140 off the price tag of the entry-level iPad 9.7in with both Wi-Fi and 4G cellular connectivity.
As such, for £399 you can get a 128GB iPad in either Silver or Space Grey, equipped to get you online even if you’re on top of a hill miles away from the nearest Wi-Fi hotspot.
One thing to note is this’s the previous model of the ‘standard’ iPad. The latest entry-level iPad was refreshed earlier in the year and now has a 10.2in display, putting in more in line with the latest iPad Air. You can get the base model of the 10.2in iPad for £349, but to get 128GB of storage space and cellular connectivity, you’re then looking at a price of £579.
This means Amazon’s offer on the slightly older iPad is actually pretty attractive. As is the iPad itself. It may have rather chunky bezels compared to the iPad Pro tablets, but it’s still a well-made tablet with a solid display that’s great for watching anything from cat videos on YouTube to fully-blown movies.
Apple also has a host of new services that run nicely on the iPad, meaning it’s now a good time to dip your toes into iPadOS if you haven’t already.
Apple TV+ is Apple’s new video-on-demand subscription service, which offers a suite of original shows and movies only available with Apple TV+. This could be ideal for people who want an iPad for watching videos while commuting or travelling further afield.
If you fancy a bit of gaming on your iPad, not only does Apple’s App Store have a mass of free and premium games to get stuck into, there’s now Apple Arcade. This is another subscription service but offers access to exclusive games that Apple helped fund.
With all this in mind, Amazon’s deal on the 9.7in iPad is once to definitely consider if you’re after an iPad upgrade or have yet to get a top-notch tablet.
