The original Fitbit Versa is now going cheap
Amazon has cut the price of the Fitbit Versa ahead of Black Friday
The Fitbit Versa is a solid fitness tracker, and it’s current 35% cheaper on Amazon ahead of the Black Friday sales.
The retailer is currently hawking the Fitbit Versa for a reduced price of £129.85, down from £199. If you’re in the market for a smart wearable ahead of the festive season, it’s certainly worth considering.
In his review, our lifestyle and fitness editor, Edward Munn, described the Fitbit Versa as an “almost brilliant” device, praising its battery life and sleep-analysis abilities, but lamenting its lack of in-built GPS: “There’s a lot to like about the Fitbit Versa. It looks and feels better than any other smartwatch that I’ve tested under £200, it’s considerably lighter and less bulky than all of its rivals, and then there’s the outstanding battery life.”
GPS functionality only comes with connectivity to your phone – which means you’ll need to bring your handset with you if you want to, say, chart a bike ride. As long as you’re okay with that, there’s a lot to love about the Fitbit Versa, from heart-rate monitoring to a range of activity goals.
“The Versa incorporates most of the features you’d expect to find in a fitness-orientated smartwatch,” wrote Munn. “The default clock face prominently displays the time and date, but a quick tap of the display jumps between mini widgets displaying your heart rate, step count and calories burned. Swipe up and you’ll get a more detailed breakdown of your day that includes info about your resting heart rate, distance covered and number of staircases climbed, as measured by the watch’s altimeter.”
