Save 30% on Sky broadband over Black Friday
Sky has cut the price of its Superfast broadband package
Sky has a raft of Black Friday offers on the go, including 50% off TV packages and – in this particular deal – a substantial cut to the monthly cost of its Superfast broadband.
Sky’s Superfast broadband normally costs £42 per month, but for the next few weeks that price has been slashed to £29/mth. If you’re in the market for a new broadband provider, it’s certainly worth considering.
That price will get you download speeds of 59Mbits/sec, as well as “Anytime calls” with phone-line rental and Sky’s “WiFi Guarantee”, which promises at least 3Mbits/sec Wi-Fi in every room of your home, or your money back.
Before you’re totally taken by that £29/mth figure, be aware that Sky’s small print mentions there will be an additional £19.95 setup cost, and that the price is only for 18 months. There’s also mention of the price potentially changing during the length of that contract.
In our review of Sky broadband, we praised its performance but warned of price hikes after the initial contract period: “Clearly, there’s nothing wrong with Sky’s performance, nor its customer service. The Sky Q Hub router isn’t at all bad either. The problem is the pricing. Some of Sky’s packages are competitive; others aren’t, and in all cases the way the monthly fee rockets up after the initial contract period simply stinks.”
If you do opt for the deal, just be sure to check on Sky’s pricing further down the road – particularly towards the end of the initial 18-month contract.
