Everything you need to know about Amazon’s star-studded Prime Day concert

Amazon Prime Day, everyone’s favourite consumer shopping bonanza, is just around the corner. The event will be held from Monday 15 July to Tuesday 16 of July, spanning two full days for the first time ever.

To celebrate, the internet retail giant hosted a star-studded live-streamed concert in New York on Tuesday, headlined by queen-of-pop Taylor Swift. The “Bad Blood” songstress was joined by a host of other chart toppers including Dua Lipa as part of the build-up to Amazon’s two-day shopping event.

Amazon Prime Day Concert: When, where, who?

Not one for doing things by halves, Amazon laid on a invitation-only affair at an undisclosed venue in New York City, with “Shake It Off”-singer Taylor staying true to form in rainbow garb, performing her recent hits “ME!” and “You Need To Calm Down!”

Meanwhile, joining Swift in the Amazon Prime Day Concert lineup were fellow artists Dua Lipa, SZA and Becky G, with the latter debuting her new song “Dollar” at the event.

The concert took place on Wednesday 10 July at 9pm, with celebrations hosted by actor and comedian Jane Lynch of Glee and 40-Year-Old Virgin fame. Not known for his showmanship, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos did not have a hand in presenting.
