Amazon’s Echo Spot, Echo Show and Fire TV Stick are all on offer

It turns out Christmas has come early this year, as online ecommerce giant Amazon has slashed the price of three of its most popular Alexa-enabled products. The Echo Spot and Echo Show are on offer until 22 December, and the first-gen Fire TV Stick until Christmas Eve – but we hope you won’t leave your shopping that late.

Just how good are the deals? Well, although these particular products are almost always on offer, good enough to be emblazoned across the top of the Amazon UK homepage.

If you’ve never heard of the Echo Spot, it’s essentially an Echo Dot, only with a screen that can show you your to-do list, shopping list, weather forecasts, music lyrics and more – think of it as a sort of smart alarm clock. It usually retails at £120, but is now available for just £90. That’s a 25% saving, and the cheapest the Echo Spot has ever been outside of the annual Black Friday sales.

You wouldn’t be getting a bad product, either. Our original review praised the extra features that the circular touchscreen brings to the Echo Spot. Our only real gripe was it’s somewhat hefty price, but it seems that Amazon has solved that problem for you, albeit temporarily.

The Echo Show, meanwhile, takes things one step further. Our all-time favourite Echo speaker, this touchscreen/smart speaker hybrid’s 10in display gives the whole smart speaker genre a new lease of life. It allows you to watch online videos and carry out video calls, among other things.

It usually retails for £220, but in the run-up to Christmas this year you can pick one up for just £170 – that’s £50 off, or a saving of 23%.

Last but not least, the first-gen Fire TV Stick represents one of the most affordable ways to transform your dumb TV into a smart one. You can gain access to more than 10,000 apps, including BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, Netflix and more for only £25 this Christmas, down from the usual £40. You’ll also get an Alexa voice remote included in the price, which allows you to launch the app you want using only voice commands.

If you truly wanted to go all in, the total cost of these three products is just £285, down from the normal RRP of £380. As previously mentioned, these products are frequently discounted, which means this isn’t the most exciting deal in the world, but it’s still worth buying them now if you want to take the first steps towards making your home smart.
