Amazon Echo sale: MASSIVE Echo Dot, Show and Fire Tablet deals
Save up to 30% on the Amazon Echo Dot, Echo Show and Fire HD 8
With Christmas just around the corner, Amazon is clearly getting into the festive spirit of generosity – the online shopping behemoth has just launched a sale across a selection of its home-grown smart devices.
Or, if you’re a tad more cynical about the opportunistic nature of online retail, you might think that Amazon is just keen to shift some of its older devices. But, if you look through the dedicated deals page a little more closely, you’ll find current-generation devices among the list, including the new Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet, which we reviewed earlier this month.

Best Amazon deals
Amazon Echo Dot, second-generation (was £50, now £40)
The third-generation version of the Echo’s humble, puck-shaped little sibling launched earlier this month – which is presumably the reason for the price drop, as Amazon is likely hoping to shift old stock. But, if you’re okay with getting your hands on a piece of tech that is no longer cutting-edge, but is still a perfectly-good digital helper, this Echo Dot will serve you in good stead. Its seven in-built microphones will pick up your orders, and it can do everything from playing music, operating other smart home devices, relaying the news (if you’re in the mood for a little mild depression) or the weather.
Amazon Echo, refurbished, second-generation (was £80, now £60)
And here it is, the device that had us all barking into inanimate objects in our living rooms in the first place. Still yet to be bested by rival products (yes, we’re looking at you, Apple), the Echo offers all that the Dot does – except with better-quality speakers. You can rely on the regular Echo to do all of your favourite tunes proper justice.
Currently, the cheapest way to pick up a second-generation Echo is to opt for a refurbished version; a top-quality, second-hand iteration of the iconic smart speaker device. A deal on refurbished Echo Dots has brought the price down from £80 to £60.
Amazon Fire HD 7 Kids Tablet (was £100, now £80)
Amazon’s tablets have dropped substantially in price over the years, and they frequently offer an excellent budget-priced alternative to Apple’s iPads and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineup. With the kid-friendly Fire HD 7, you can currently save £20 and pick one up for just £80.
Amazon Echo Show bundle (was £470, now £340)
If you really want to feel like you have god-like powers over your home environment, well, look no further than this excellent bundle, which features two Echo Show devices and two Philips Hue smart lightbulbs. Like the name suggests, the Echo Show adds a screen to the smart=home mix, allowing you to make and receive video calls, and watch content from Amazon Prime. Connect it to other smart tech and you can see who’s at the door or, alternatively, raise and lower light levels for some truly 21st-century mood-setting.
