IFA 2017 is here. Here is all the latest news and product launches
It’s IFA time! No, I haven’t just made a typo of FIFA 18 – I’m talking about IFA, or “Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin” if you want to show your German skills honed on Duolingo. Now in its 57th year, it’s the largest European tech event of the year – not quite as big as CES in Las Vegas, but usually with its fair share of unveilings and surprise announcements.
We’ll be updating this page with links to all our reviews and hands ons live from the show floor, where three of our intrepid writers will be busying themselves in the latest technology. In the meantime, here’s what you need to know about IFA 2017.

When is IFA 2017?
Although IFA 2017 officially opens up to the general public on Friday 1 September, it’s open to the press a little earlier – so we’ll be in there getting up close and personal with all the new technology launches.
The event then goes on until 6 September – but expect the major announcements to be frontloaded. After all – nobody wants to be the last announcement when everyone has tech fatigue.
What companies have a strong IFA presence?
First of all, let’s make one thing clear: Apple doesn’t bother with IFA, preferring to their own September events live streamed around the world.
Otherwise, tech giants tend to have quite a strong presence. The likes of Samsung, Sony, LG and Motorola have all made announcements there in the past, and they’re likely to again. Wearable companies like Garmin, Fitbit and TomTom also have a presence, so fitness fanatics should have something to look forward to.
