Voxoa BTunes review
The Voxoa BTunes turns your favourite headphones into Bluetooth wireless ones, but comes at a slightly high price
In terms of sound quality, the BTunes supports the aptX and AAC codecs for less-lossy wireless. There was barely any discernible difference between listening to the Momentum 2.0 wired or through the BTunes. Under extremely critical listening, it could be argued that the Momentum 2.0 loses a fraction of its crispness in its treble, but it’s so marginal that it’s largely negligible. Deterioration of sound quality or signal isn’t an issue. A microphone is built in, so you can use your headphones for handsfree calling. The microphone was nice and sensitive and we never had any problems with making or receiving calls.
In terms of functionality, there’s little to complain about. Its shortcomings come from a design that’s too large for my tastes and a price that’s also a little too high when you factor in shipping from the US. The BTunes will cost $94 after shipping, which equates to around £60 after conversion. This was less than the difference between the wired and wireless versions of the Momentum 2.0 at the time of writing. However, the actual wireless Senheiser Momentum 2.0 has a battery life far superior at around 22 hours and the benefit of a more seamless design. With that in mind, the BTunes begins to look a little more pricey and its protruding design becomes slightly harder to ignore.
If you already have a wired pair of headphones from the admittedly limited list of compatible models you want to upgrade, the Voxoa BTunes does do an excellent job, even if it might slightly detract from the clean design of your cans.
