Deezer Elite launches in UK for Sonos owners, confirms pricing
Deezer's 'high definition' streaming service launches in the UK but only for Sonos owners
Deezer’s Elite streaming service has now launched in 150 countries including the UK, bringing with it ‘high definition’ audio streaming (not to be confused with high resolution audio). This puts it in direct competition with other lossless streaming services such as Tidal.
There’s a caveat, however, in that Deezer has exclusively partnered with Sonos so the only way to have access to Deezer Elite is if you have a Sonos speaker. While most music streaming services top out at 320kbps MP3s, Deezer Elite streams music in 1,411kbps in FLAC (Free Lossless Audio codec) format meaning improved audio fidelity.
Best music streaming service – which should you subscribe to?
Deezer Elite is available for £14.99 a month if you opt for a rolling monhtly subscription, which is £5 cheaper than Tidal. If you opt in for a year of Deezer Elite, you won’t be paying any more than a regular Deezer Premium+ subscription, which equates to £10 a month. You don’t save any more if you tie yourself into a two year subscription. At half the price of Tidal, Deezer Elite suddenly becomes great value if you’re looking for lossless streaming music.
