The new Apple iPad is now under £300 in this Black Friday deal
The new 10.2in iPad is going cheap at various retailers
The 2019 Apple iPad 10.2in is £299, down from £349, in a Black Friday deal at Amazon and John Lewis.
It’s a great price for the recently released iPad, which we called “the best tablet you can buy for under £500” in our four-star review. Our head of reviews, Jonathan Bray, was particularly blown away by the ambition of Apple’s latest iteration of the iPad, but found a lot to love in its design and the quality of its operating system.
“It’s impossible to deny the quality of the thing,” Jon wrote. “The 10.2in iPad is still the best tablet you can buy for under £500 and, with the addition of a keyboard and iPadOS, it’s also a very good lightweight laptop alternative.”
Amazon cut the price today, whereas the iPad has been this price at John Lewis since earlier this week. If you have an old iPad to trade in, John Lewis is also offering up to a further £225 off – making this even more of a bargain.
If you’re thinking about using the iPad as a laptop replacement, bear in mind that you’ll need to buy an Apple keyboard separately that costs an extra £159. Still, it’s collectively much cheaper than an Apple laptop, which start around the £900 mark.
