Save £248 on the 10.5in iPad Pro

It’s not the very latest version, but the 2017 iPad Pro is still a beast of a tablet

It’s not exactly a secret that Apple products are expensive, but they don’t half hold their value. And that’s why it’s best to grab a good deal when you see anything significantly reduced.

And Currys has gone and done just that, knocking £248 on the 256GB 10.5in iPad Pro in Space Grey. While the list price is £541, adding the code IPAD20 at checkout will bring it down to £521 – a really good price for a tablet this powerful.

Because despite being two years old now, the 10.5in iPad Pro is still a powerful machine. It comes with the Apple A10X processor, which puts it somewhere between the power of an iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. You can see in the graph below that in our benchmarks it wipes the floor with the 2018 iPad (albeit with a more expensive RRP).

In other words, the 10.5in iPad Pro is still a really solid performer, and I can personally vouch for it as my girlfriend has one. When coupled with the Apple Pencil (sold separately, alas) it becomes a wonderful sketch pad, and if you get a keyboard case, it becomes a fully fledged laptop alternative.

Yes, you could buy one of the 2018 iPad Pros, but prepare for a mighty steep price increase for the thinner and more powerful design. The 2018 11in iPad Pro starts at £769 for a version with just 64GB of internal storage, and goes all the way up to £1,869 for a fully tripped-out 12.9in edition.

Given Apple has never supported microSD cards, I’d personally be inclined to save money and buy the 256GB 10.5in model from Currys, instead.
