Kindle 2022, Paperwhite, Scribe and Kids are cheaper than EVER for Prime Day
Amazon's Kindle 2022, Paperwhite, Oasis, Kids and Scribe Kindle e-readers get record discounts for Prime Day
Amazon is offering bigger discounts than ever on its Kindle range for Prime Day. The heftiest price cuts go to the 2022 edition of the Kindle, now more affordable than ever at £60, and the exceptional Kindle Paperwhite, an absolute steal for Prime Day at £100.
Right across the range, Amazon’s e-readers are better value than ever. Kindle Kids, Kindle Oasis and Kindle Scribe all get generous Prime Day discounts, in most cases the biggest price drops these devices have ever seen.
There’s every chance these record discounts won’t be repeated after Prime Day. The 2022 Kindle wasn’t discounted at all for Black Friday, and briefly dipped to £65 for a couple of days in February this year. The Paperwhite has seen the occasional discount to £115, but its Prime Day price of £100 is its lowest ever by far.

1. Kindle (2022 release): £60 (average Amazon price £79)
Amazon’s outstanding e-reader grabbed the full five stars in our Amazon Kindle (2022) review. Our reviewer hailed the Kindle’s sharper 300ppi E ink display, USB-C charging, solid battery life and “affordable price tag” – now more affordable than ever for Prime Day.
2. Kindle Paperwhite: £100 (average £136)
Our five-star Amazon Kindle Paperwhite review praised “Amazon’s best ebook reader” for its bigger screen, “astonishing” battery life, warm colours for bedtime readers and USB-C charging (at last!). This exceptional e-reader has been discounted before, but never this much – and its average price over the last couple of years is a relatively high £136. At £100, this one’s an absolute steal.
3. Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition: £130 (average £167)
The Paperwhite’s Signature Edition adds wireless charging, an ambient light sensor and 32GB of internal storage, compared with 16GB on the standard Paperwhite. Again, this is the biggest price cut this device has ever seen, down from a previous (very brief) low of £145 in March 2023.

4. Kindle Kids (2022 release): £75 (average £97)
The child-friendly edition of the Kindle has been generously discounted once before, to £80 in February, but this Prime Day price cut is the best it’s ever seen. The device is purpose-built for reading books and comes with no apps, videos or games, and includes a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, a library designed for children aged 3-12.
5. Kindle Scribe 64GB: £320 (average £365)
This is your best chance yet to buy premium 64GB writing, drawing and reading tablet for a relatively affordable price. It comes with a superbly sharp E Ink screen and a bundled pen that writes beautifully, and our Kindle Scribe review noted that the ability to add notes to your Kindle books is a game-changer. The 16GB and 32GB models also get sizeable Prime Day discounts, dropping to £285 and £295 respectively.

6. Kindle Oasis 8GB: £180 (average £210)
The high-end Kindle Oasis isn’t discounted quite as heavily as its stablemates, and has been cheaper than this before, at £170 – but that was a brief discount way back in 2020. With an average Amazon price tag of £210 and an RRP of £230, this is great buy for a premium device.
As with many Prime Day deals, these Kindle price cuts are exclusive to Prime members. There’s a free 30-day trial for new users, so we think it’s worth signing up to Prime today to get the most out of the bargains on offer. You can always cancel before the trial ends.
