This is the best Samsung phone deal this Prime Day
A stunning mid-range phone, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is now better value than ever thanks to a Prime Day discount
The Prime Early Access Sale, or Prime Day 2.0 as we’ve taken to calling it, has kicked off in style with this incredible deal on the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. This model has been reduced from its average Amazon price of £334 to its lowest ever price on the site, a stunningly cheap £249.
And this isn’t just a great deal, it’s a great deal on one of our mid-range favourite phones. We gave the Samsung Galaxy A53 five stars and our coveted Best Buy award in our original Samsung Galaxy A53 review, also calling it our favourite mid-range Samsung in our round-up of the best mid-range smartphones.
The autumn Prime Day event takes place on 11 and 12 October, so make sure to snap up this deal before the sale ends. Be aware as well that some of the deals and discounts on offer this Prime Day will only be available to Amazon Prime members. If you’re not already signed up, you can avail of a 30-day Amazon Prime trial and try out all the benefits of the service for free. Once your free trial ends, Amazon Prime will cost £8.99/mth.
Originally reviewing it at its launch price of £399, we praised the A53 for its great value, noting it as a great budget alternative to mainline models like the Samsung Galaxy S22, and going on to say that for those who want value, but don’t necessarily want to scrimp on quality features and usability, the A53 is a perfect choice.
The A53 is solidly put together and feels sturdy to hold, despite its plastic construction, and is IP67 rated for water and dust protection. Like the S22, the A53 has a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, with a slightly larger screen size of 6.5in. Internally, the phone is well kitted out, with an Exynos 1280 chipset working alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Outside of the above features, the two areas in which the A53 stood out to us were battery life and camera. The phone’s 5000mAh battery excelled in testing, lasting just below 22 hours in our standard looping-video test, with the 25W fast charging bringing the phone from 0 to 50% in just 35 minutes in a charging test. For a mid-range phone, the A53’s quad-camera setup is able to capture crisp, well-detailed images, with portraits being one of the areas it delivers the strongest results.
With all this praise lavished on the phone when it costs £400, you can see why we’re stunned to see all the same features and value now available for under £250. This is one of the top deals this Prime Day, so we’d advise anyone in search of a new phone to act fast.
