Pick up an iPad for under £300 this Prime Day
The discounts may be small, but both configurations of the entry-level iPad are as cheap as they've ever been
If you’ve been combing the internet for a Prime Day iPad deal, you may well have stumbled across this great offer on the iPad Air 2020. But if you’re after a new tablet and are on a more meagre budget, the entry-level iPad is a better option and is also going cheap during the Prime Day sales.
Discounts on the 10.2in base iPad are pretty rare and tend to be rather minor but every little helps, and there are savings of £20 and £40 to be had on the 64GB and 256GB models, respectively.
Those discounts bring the price of the 64GB option down from £319 to £299 and the 256GB model down from £459 to £419. That’s not much money to pay for a slim and lightweight tablet that can be used for just about any computing task.
The move to Apple’s A13 Bionic processor provides an uptick in performance over the previous generation model, and camera quality is vastly superior too, while Apple’s Centre Stage technology helps ensure you remain in frame at all times during calls, even when moving around. The 2021 iPad 10.2in also benefits from the incorporation of True Tone colour-matching technology, something the entry-level model had previously lacked.
All of these incremental improvements on the 2020 iteration add up, and make the iPad 10.2in (2021) the best tablet on the market for most people.
Our head of reviews, Jon Bray, ended his review of the iPad 10.2 (2021) by saying: “If you have around £300 to £500 to spend and you’re looking to get yourself something that can turn its hand to any job, the iPad (2021) remains the tablet to buy. It’s cheap, performs exceptionally well and is supremely versatile.”
That’s high praise from a man who has seen more than his fair share of tablets, and given the device is cheaper now than it was when he reviewed it, his words ring truer than ever.
Unlike the majority of deals found across the site over the past couple of days, this iPad 10.2in offer is not exclusive to Amazon Prime members so anyone can enjoy the discount.
There are, however, loads of great Amazon deals worth checking out on our Prime Day hub. There you’ll find links to deals roundups across a huge range of product categories along with our pick of the top deals still available.
