NZXT H630 Silent Ultra review
The NZXT H630 Silent Ultra is as quiet as it is gargantuan with a clean, uncluttered design

The H630 Silent Ultra is a case designed to keep noise under control, combining a generously large size with noise-dampening capabilities in a choice of matt black or glossy white finishes. We reviewed the latter and appreciated its clean and elegant design – it looks unobtrusive and subtly blends into a room without any fuss or grandeur.
There isn’t a viewing window built into the side panel for those who like to exhibit their PC building skills, as this would provide another way for noise to escape the chassis. Remove the side panels, which use convenient thumbscrews, and you’ll spot noise dampening foam installed on the inside, designed to muffle any sound generated by the system’s internals.
A 200mm fan comes pre-installed in the front, continuing the noise-reducing theme. This is designed to move a lot of air without the need for a high fan speed, reducing the potential for distracting noise. This can be swapped out for two 140mm fans, or three 120mm fans if you prefer. A 140mm fan is fitted to the rear, while the front of the case has a mounting point for a second 200mm fan. Water cooling is well catered for, with space for radiators up to 360mm in both the top and front of the case. We appreciated the inclusion of a ten-port fan hub, which helps prevent power cables from snaking around the case.
The H630 can take ATX, XL-ATX, ITX, microATX and EATX motherboards, with convenient markings on the standoffs highlighting where to mount each size. There’s clearance for a 350mm long graphics card, and we had no problems fitting a 190mm high CPU cooler.
There are plenty of cable management holes and cable tie points behind the motherboard tray, where you will also find mounting points for two 2 ½in drives. There’s a whopping eight 3 ½in drive bays in total, with the modular drive cages easily removed if you don’t plan on using that much storage. There are also two external 5 ¼in bays.
The NZXT H630 Silent Ultra cuts an imposing figure due to its size but it’s also very classy looking, especially in white. If you need a lot of storage, there are plenty of drive bays and you have a lot of room to upgrade the cooling. The noise dampening also worked very well, making the H630 Silent Ultra a great choice. If you’re not looking to spend as much, we loved the SilverStone Quiet Precision PS11 that also offers near-silent computing at a reasonable price.
