Asus ET2410INTS review

What it lacks in high-powered gaming capabilities, the ET2410INTS makes up for in media-readiness. The touchscreen would make an adequate substitute for a TV in your average studio flat. It’s evenly lit, with excellent contrast and accurate reproduction of dark tones. Some natural shades are a little muted, but the glossy screen helps to make things look more vibrant and isn’t too reflective.

Videos and games look brilliant, and there’s even an HDMI input that allows you to use the ET2410INTS as a stand-alone monitor, which is perfect if you want to connect a games console or digital TV box. There’s an integrated Blu-ray drive and TV tuner with an aerial input and a Media Center remote control. You can either connect an external antenna or see how you do with the supplied mini-antenna. There are also two video outputs – one VGA and one HDMI, which allow you to connect the PC to a projector or add a second monitor.

The ET2410INTS’s other ports are well-chosen and well laid-out: two USB3 ports can be found at the front left-hand side of the display, along with a memory card reader, a dual-function eSATA/USB port and 3.5mm mic and line connectors. If you want surround sound, you’ll have to output it to an AV amplifier via HDMI but the built-in speaker has reasonable sound quality with a surprising degree of directionality if you’re sitting right in front of it, and even a bit of bass. There are three more USB ports at the back, alongside a Gigabit Ethernet port, while 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi is also provided.
