OnePlus 8 deal: Price PLUMMETS in time for Black Friday
A OnePlus flagship for a budget price? Not quite, but this deal is still phenomenal
The exceptional OnePlus 8 is now cheaper than ever thanks to a Black Friday deal at Amazon. Originally £548, you can now pick up the latest flagship OnePlus smartphone for £399: that’s a £149 saving that pushes the price of the handset down to the very bottom end of the mid-range market.
If it’s value for money you’re after – that is, if you want flagship features for wallet-friendly prices – you won’t find any better this Black Friday. That’s because the OnePlus 8 is now cheaper than it has ever been at Amazon.
So what’s the fuss all about? The OnePlus 8 left our mobile technology editor Nathan Spendelow with a big grin on his face after he reviewed it earlier this year. He called it a “faultless next-gen flagship killer”, praising the display, battery life and price as well as the standardised 5G support and general performance. In fact, his only real criticism was that the OnePlus 8 lacks an official waterproofing rating.
“Fixing the problems of last year’s phone, while simultaneously improving almost every aspect, the OnePlus 8 instead demonstrates that a twice-yearly phone launch doesn’t need to add new features to be worthy of admiration. Excelling in all areas, a simple case of refinement is perhaps the best strategy of all.”
Under the hood is the latest 5G-ready Snapdragon processors, the same ones you’ll find in a flagship Android handset of the same age and often much higher price. As such, the OnePlus 8 keeps up with much more expensive rivals in every department.
With three rear cameras and plenty of party tricks, the OnePlus 8 will match those rivals in the photography department; and with a 90Hz AMOLED panel, it’ll give them a run for their money on the display front, too.
As you can see, then, the OnePlus 8 earns its status as a flagship-killer – particularly at this new low price of £399.
