OnePlus is giving away £133 of accessories with the OnePlus 7T

A solid phone with some great freebies

OnePlus has always offered high-end phones at more appealing prices, and while said cost has crept up over the years, the company’s handsets are still bargains compared to equivalent offerings from the Apples and Samsungs of this world.

Now the Chinese company is making its OnePlus 7T handset more appealing by throwing in a whole bunch of accessories worth £133.70 free of charge. The whole bundle will cost you the same as buying a OnePlus 7T on its own, which is to say £549. Even cheaper if you can prove you’re a student with a StudentBeans account.

That’s all well and good, but of course the value of the bundle depends on whether it’s actually useful stuff, and the good news is that it actually is composed of the kind of accessories you’ll find a good home for.

First of all, there’s a protective case, and that extra insulation against drops is matched on the front thanks to a tempered glass screen protector. There’s also a USB Type-C headphone adapter to compensate for the lack of 3.5mm jack, but you won’t actually need it, as the company is including a set of its own Type-C Bullet earbuds too.

Finally, your charging will get a boost as well. That’s thanks to the Warp Charger 30 plug and accompanying charger which will give you “enough power to get you going” from just a 20-minute charge, apparently.

So a good little bundle then. But is the phone any good? Well yes, but when we reviewed it we had some issues with the camera, which Jon found to have problems in both ultra-wide and 2x telephoto modes.

I haven’t used it to comment, and it’s possible these have been fixed in a software patch since publication. What I can say is that this was pretty much the only drawback, with Jon praising the attractive design, the 90Hz display, excellent performance and superb battery life. If that’s all you’re looking for in a phone – and you’re happy using just the regular 12-megapixel camera – then look no further.
