The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has leaked in full

Motorola Razr rival is quite a bit more souped up

Samsung’s upcoming foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip, likely won’t have any big secrets left to reveal at the upcoming Unpacked event. A new leak from WinFuture has spilled pretty much every bean there is to spill, and it’s looking hugely promising.

While the Motorola Razr will be puffing around on specs you could find on a £219 handset despite its crazy price, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is quite a bit more flagship in feel. According to the leak, it’ll include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. That’s not the very latest 865 chip that’ll be powering the Galaxy S20, but it’ll make it easily as powerful as anything else from last year, which is probably good enough. Price permitting, of course.

Said price is still a mystery, but WinFuture has plenty of other interesting stuff. The screen, when unfolded, will be 6.7in with an aspect ratio of 22:9 and a resolution of 2,636 x 1,080. The plastic panel of the Galaxy Fold has been updated to ultra thin glass, and there will be a teeny-tiny 1.06in 300 x 116 display on the outside for notifications. An earlier tip also suggests this can be used as a viewfinder for the camera, so you can use the rear camera for better quality selfies.

That camera setup is a dual-lens affair with two 12-megapixel cameras – one for ultrawide shots. There’s a single 10-megapixel camera on the inside, in a punch hole like recent Samsung flagships.

Rounding up the specs are a couple of disappointments. Firstly, the memory isn’t expandable – although with 256GB built in, that’s hardly the end of the world. The second is more annoying: there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack, so you’ll either have to use the USB-C port with an adapter or embrace Bluetooth audio. With Samsung unveiling the Galaxy Buds Plus at the same event, the company will no doubt be banking on the latter.

These are all rumours for now – although pretty nailed down ones for my money. We’ll know for sure at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, which is scheduled for Tuesday 11 February.
