The Google Pixel 3 is one of the best Android handsets out there. The single rear camera produces photographs that put the competition to shame, and the pure Android operating system and lightning-fast processors make for a wonderfully smooth user experience.

Until Google announces the Pixel 4, the Pixel 3 remains the handset to buy for anyone looking to get involved with the tech giant’s smartphone range. But choosing your perfect Pixel is more than just deciding how much memory you want: for the discerning fashionista, finding a colour that matches your attire, or a shade that complements your eyes, is every bit as crucial as assessing your storage options.

What follows is the only colour chart you’ll ever need. Here’s a rundown of every colour the Pixel 3 comes in.

Just Black

What better way to let your colleagues and clients know you mean business than with a shade of black darker than your briefcase and matching umbrella? This is a professional colour: a colour that takes calls propped between ear and shoulder; a colour that, for the most part, hasn’t taken a real lunch break since 2002.

If you’re the kind of person who wouldn’t use a smartphone at all but for the necessity, the Google Pixel 3 in Just Black is probably for you. Even the power button is black.

Clearly White

No-one purchases a white smartphone. If you’re reading this, you’re a member of an enlightened minority: you’ve found peace, reached Nirvana, ascended to Shangri-La. This is the colour that the Google Pixel 3 was always meant to be.

It’s tranquil and calming, like a blank canvas or an empty page. Clearly White isn’t totally pure, though: a soft green power button might tickle the fancy of the thrill-seeker in you.

Not Pink

The name alone raises so many questions. You’re presented with what would, in any other place on any other day, be described with absolute certainty as a pale shade of pink. And yet the Pixel 3 Not Pink presents the mother of all misnomers, forcing you to seriously consider that most ancient of Shakespearian quandaries: what’s in a name?

What I’m trying to say is: Not Pink is the colour for smart people. The sort of people who, when asked why their Pixel 3 has an orange power button, respond with a knowing smile.

I’m afraid that’s the lot. Google doesn’t manufacture the Pixel 3 in Very Silver and Really (or even Kinda) Blue, and has upgraded the intensity of its Black from “Quite” to “Just” with no prior explanation. Nobody knows what happened to the elusive Black and White “Panda” Pixel 2.
