The best Google Pixel 3 cases
Google Fabric Case: The most stylish Pixel 3 case
Price: £35 | Buy now from Google
We’ll start with Google itself and a pair of cases that are among the most stylish around. The Google Fabric Case comes in four colours which differ from those available for the Pixel 2. You can choose from Carbon (near-black), Fog (grey), Indigo and Pink Moon, the latter of which should go well with the Pixel 3’s Not Pink colour.
The case is a tailored fabric, with a knit exterior and a soft microfibre liner for protection. It allows wireless charging and retains use of the Active Edge feature, which means you can still squeeze the sides to activate Google Assistant.
Google My Case: The best customisable Pixel 3 case
Price: £40 | Buy now from Google
The second of the two cases on offer from Google, My Case offers near-endless customisation. Only the material is non-negotiable, with only plastic on offer. Of course, wireless charging and Active Edge are included.
As you’d expect from a customisation service, there is a range of options. You can, of course, upload your own images to create a totally personal phone case. But there’s also the option to buy a case with a Google Map of your choice on the back. And if neither of those options takes your fancy, Google has a wealth of ready-made designs and is even commissioning three artists to come up with their own artwork.
Spigen Rugged Armor: The best sturdy Pixel 3 case
Price: £10 | Buy now from Spigen
A case that looks both sleek and sturdy at the same time, the Rugged Armor is slim, inexpensive and comes with the Spigen’s corner-saving technology. What does that mean? Well, dropping your phone on the corner is a recipe for shattered screens, so this case compensates with air cushioning on the weak points.
The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) case comes in black, with a gloss and carbon fibre-style design. There’s also support for wireless charging as well as Active Edge compatibility via the squeezable sides.
Tech21 Pure Clear: The best clear case
Price: £2 | Buy now from Amazon
If you want to look at the rear of your Pixel 3 without it being obstructed by a patterned or solid-colour case, then the Tech21 Pure Clear is for you. As you might have guessed, it’s a see-through case, giving you both protection and a clear view of your phone.
Made from a material named BulletShield, the Pure Clear offers protection from drops of up to 10 feet (3 metres). The clear material is also claimed by Tech21 to be UV resistant, which should prevent it from yellowing over time.
Otterbox Symmetry Series: A Pixel 3 case to protect the screen
Price: £30 | Buy now from Otterbox
Another case only available in black, the Symmetry Service is slim and drop-proof. It’s made from synthetic rubber and polycarbonate, while a raised screen bumper helps to protect the screen from scratches or dents if dropped. Like many of the other cases featured here, you can pop the case on and off the Pixel 3 quickly and easily.
There’s also claimed compatibility with “every feature and function of the device”, which means it will be compatible with wireless charging and Google’s Active Edge technology.
VRS Design Single Fit Label Series: The best value protective Pixel 3 case
Price: £35 | Buy now from Amazon
Like the Spigen Rugged Armor above, this is another case made from TPU, providing protection against drops and bumps. There are also raised edges surrounding the screen in order to protect against scratches.
Design-wise, the Single Fit Label Series is slim and features a matte rear, which is claimed to be resistant to smudges and fingerprints. In addition to the black colour – common to phone cases – the VRS Design case also comes in light grey as pictured.
