Motorola announces Moto Hint, the world’s smallest Bluetooth headset
Put an end to ugly Bluetooth headsets with Motorola's discrete, voice-controlled ear bud
Alongside the new Moto G, new Moto X and the stunning Moto 360, Motorola has also announced it will be launching a brand new wireless Bluetooth headset named the Moto Hint. This tiny ear bud is the smallest and most discrete Bluetooth headset you’ll be able to buy and is the result of almost two years of engineering, according to Motorola.
It’s designed to give you complete control over your phone, letting you access everything you need via voice control. This means you don’t have to touch the Moto Hint or even your phone in order to use it, which sets it apart from the majority of Bluetooth headsets.
It also means it’s always on when you start using it, for example, with the new Moto X, but the Hint isn’t just limited to Motorola devices. In fact, Motorola stated it will also be compatible with “all deviecs”, including iOS devices, Samsung phones and the entire Motorola portfolio. This means you can press the Hint’s capacitive button to activate Siri or the other Google Services.
You can use your own custom trigger phrase with it as well. For example, in our hands-on demo, we were shown how to use the Hint to take a selfie with our phone. It worked surprisingly well, although the noisy demo room meant it didn’t always hear what we said.
You can also use voice commands to get turn by turn navigation directions and answers to questions via Google Now, all without touching or even looking at your phone, according to Motorola.
To keep you going on the move, the Hint comes with a charging case that carries two additional charges, which when combined together brings its total usage time up to 10 hours. On its own, Motorola said the Hint should last for about four hours of talk-time and take 30 minutes to charge inside the case.
Unfortunately, Motorola couldn’t give us a price or release date just yet, but it did promise that the Hint would be coming to the UK in the coming months.
