Amazon slashes the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K in Black Friday sale
Amazon has slashed the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K by 40%, making the best 4K streamer for its price even cheaper
In the world of media streaming sticks, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD with Alexa Voice Remote (quite a mouthful) is one of the best on the market. With this stunning Black Friday deal – which shaves 40% off its price – it’s now also the cheapest at just £30!
The one flaw the Fire TV Stick 4K had when we initially reviewed it was the lack of an official YouTube app. Thankfully, Amazon and Google have put their differences behind them and the 4K Stick now supports the world’s most popular video-streaming website.
Apart from YouTube, this Fire TV Stick also supports every major streaming service, including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Channel 4, ITV and more. The only big name missing from this lineup, unfortunately, is Sky’s Now TV.
For those interested in the technical bits, the streaming stick gives you access to 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR and HDR10+, and you also get Dolby Atmos on certain supported Prime Video titles.
If you’ve used earlier versions of the streaming stick, you’ll notice an updated user interface, which isn’t a complete overhaul by any means, but subtle changes make things clearer on the screen. Obviously, its full potential is only unleashed if you have a 4K Ultra HD TV, but thankfully this Black Friday seems to be the right time to purchase one.
The Fire TV Stick also comes with Amazon’s assistant Alexa built-in, so you only need to say “skip forward five minutes” to skip any long intros, for example. Or you can put Alexa to good use by saying “Alexa, play Jack Ryan” to start watching the John Krasinski political thriller that everyone’s raving about.
When we last reviewed the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, we thought it was a great product worth a solid four-star rating but we felt it worked best with an Echo device, which, coincidentally, will also be discounted over the coming days.
