An excellent touchscreen laptop that offers great computing performance at a competitive price

If you find yourself away from the mains, the P845t should just about last you a full working day, as it lasted five hours and 56 minutes in our light-use battery life test.
It also has a wide range of I/O ports, including three USB3 ports, a multiformat SD card reader, a headphone and microphone jack, a DVD rewriter, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI and VGA input for connecting it to an external monitor or display. When connected to an external display, the P845t can display images up to a maximum resolution of 2,048×1,536 and a refresh rate of 100Hz depending on the capabilities of the external display, making it perfect for projecting 1080p videos and presentations.
At £630, the Toshiba Satellite P845t-101 is roughly the same price as our Best-Buy winning Toshiba Satellite L855-148, which is both much faster and more powerful – making it a far better buy if you don’t want a touchscreen. However, if you want a touchscreen the P845t is the perfect middle ground between the low price and low power of the Asus VivoBook S200 and vastly more expensive hybrid designs such as the Dell XPS 12 and Asus Taichi.
