Toshiba AC100-10z review
The AC100 is an intriguing alternative to a regular netbook, but Android doesn't work as well here as it does on a phone.
Specifications
10 in 1,024×600 display, 900g, 1GHz nVidia Tegra 250, 512MB RAM, 8GB disk, Android 2.1
Although we couldn’t run our usual Windows-based battery benchmark, we recreated a similar test here, and in light use the AC100 managed a respectable eight and a half hours. This is average for most Windows-based netbooks.
Android is fantastic operating system for mobile phones, but it has a long way to go before it becomes a viable option to replace a fully featured desktop OS like Windows or Linux. Toshiba has created a solid hardware platform that looks great and performs well; it’s unfortunately let down by software that needs more time and attention.
