This Hive Active Heating deal saves you £99

Amazon has slashed the price of the Hive Active Heating thermostat, bringing the total cost of the heating and hot water setup plus installation to under £150. That’s a great bargain if you’re looking for a decent and well designed Alexa-enabled smart-heating system.

When we reviewed the most recent iteration of Hive Active Heating earlier this year, we found it to be an attractive-looking thermostat with a platter of proactive features – with scope to use GPS data from your phone, for example, to sense if you’ve ventured a certain distance from home and have left the heating on.

As our review says: “Hive can learn how your home heats up, and can then automatically adjust your schedules to pre-heat your home so that it’s at the right temperature when you want it.”

Amazon’s deal cuts 40% from the standard price of the heating and hot water system, along with professional installation from a British Gas engineer. Without the latter, you can still save £35 from the recommended retail price, setting you back £144 in total.

If you’re looking for an alternative, the Nest Learning Thermostat similarly offers a range of smart home heating features. The price of that system is currently £298 on Amazon, including professional installation.

While we found Nest’s offering to be a better overall experience, at just under £150 the price for the Hive Active Heating thermostat is a steal. Check it out below.
