De’Longhi Latissima+ Nespresso review
While not really the most expensive Nespresso machine, the £249 Latissama+ certainly sits quite high in the pecking order.
The Latissima+ definitely looks the part, with its large, square footprint and prominent milk steamer dominating the fascia of this sleek Nespresso machine. The pull-out cup stand provides the perfect height for espresso cups or glasses, and when it’s not in place it’s easy to slide in larger cups for when you fancy a latte or cappuccino.
There’s a 0.9L water tank that spans the whole width of the device at the rear. The tank is clear plastic so it’s easy to see how much water is left, and it’s simple enough to remove and replace when you need to fill it.
The Latissimo+ uses a traditional lever-based system for inserting and clamping the coffee capsule into place. Raising the large silver handle on the top of the machine will open the capsule receptacle, while also ejecting a used capsule if there’s one in there. Then you just drop the capsule in, close the handle and choose what drink you want to make.
The Latissama+ has a one-touch coffee system, with four buttons mounted on the top of the machine. Each of these buttons will serve you a different kind of drink without you needing to do anything other than make sure there’s coffee and milk loaded into the machine.
You can choose between espresso, lungo, cappuccino and latte macchiato drinks, with the machine handling all the milk steaming and delivery duties where required. This is certainly handy for anyone who wants their coffee quick and without fuss, but the results are variable.
