Get a THIRD off the Google Chromecast this Black Friday
Snag a bargain on the Google Chromecast, now with £10 off this Black Friday
The Google Chromecast has always been great value for money, so we’re surprised to see Currys PC World offering an extra £10 off an already excellent deal. Formerly a reasonable £30, the Google Chromecast is now retailing for just £20 at Curry’s – cheaper than a round in *any* London pub, then.
We gave the Chromecast a five-star review, citing its fantastic price (now slashed even further), its Google Home integration and its compatibility with lots of apps. And while we haven’t seen any marked differences in its third-generation iteration, it’s not hard to see why – if it ain’t broke, etc…
There is, however, a subtle redesign, and the Chromecast now plays in 1080p video at 60fps (its predecessor offered a max of 1080p 30fps). It’s still the streaming device we’ve come to know and love, with some minor upgrades.
Plus, Christmas is the time for vast excesses of high quality content, optimally viewed from the sofa with a selection box. With the Google Chromecast supporting most major TV and film apps, including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube, Now TV, BT Sport and All4, you’ll be spoiled for choice as you while away your days horizontal on the sofa.
When it comes to entertaining, Google’s Chromecast supports a host of music streaming apps, from Spotify and Soundcloud to Deezer and TuneIn Radio. Games aren’t left out of this entertainment roster; the streaming device can be used to play a number of games. Plus, you can cast things from your home media library via Plex.
And now, as if that wasn’t enough to entice you, Currys PC World is offering a tenner off the Google Chromecast this Black Friday – making it an absolute steal at £20.
