Vauxhall launches map upgrade web site

Vauxhall has announced the launch of a new webstore which makes it easier for drivers to upgrade the mapping on their in-car navigation systems.

Designed for vehicles with factory-fitted Vauxhall navigation systems, the site provides Navteq Map updates which keep the routing information as up to date as possible for European drivers.

“Given current road and highway developments going on across Europe, it is important that motorists have access to a resource that is consistently maintained with the latest information in order to plan the most accurate and efficient routes”, explained Simon Gibbs, Vauxhall product development manager, at the site’s launch. “Vauxhall drivers now have the tools they need to ensure that their navigation systems are always updated.”

The site offers paid-for upgrades for factory fitted navigation systems in Vauxhall’s Antara, Astra, Astra Coupe, Combo, Corsa, Frontera, Insignia, Meriva, Omega, Signum, Tigra Twintop, Vectra, Vivaro, Zafira and Zafira Tourer models. Additionally, the company is offering a 10 per cent discount introductory offer until the end of the month on upgrades for Antara, Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Omega, Signum, Vectra and Zafira models fitted with CD70, DVD90, CD60-CD80, DVD100 or NCDR/NCDC navigation systems.

For those who are unsure which model of navigation system they have fitted, the site includes a product picker which asks only for the model and age of the car in question. Vauxhall has also confirmed that the site is in addition to the current option of taking the car to a dealer for map upgrades, which will still be available for customers who would prefer a personal touch.
