Street Fighter X Tekken review
Frantic fighting action, with a huge cast of characters – it’s just held back by a few small flaws
We had a blast playing SFxTekken, but it’s not without its faults. A major problem is the aggressive round timer, which leads to far too many timeouts. There’s also no option for two players to play on the same team, even though the feature exists on the PS3 version. Sony’s console also has five exclusive characters that won’t be making their way to the PC. Gamers will still get the 12 bonus characters being released as downloadable content (DLC) later in the year, but this too is controversial as the characters were included on the console versions’ discs – but are locked till you r fork over the cash for them.
Capcom has promised to address some of these faults, but it’s difficult not to feel a little short changed when the DLC is already on the disc you’ve just paid for. If you’re a fighting game fan looking for a fix, this is a great buy, but it just misses out on the near-perfection we’ve come to expect from the Street Fighter series.
