The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is ludicrously cheap this Black Friday
The five-star smartphone is an absolute bargain on Amazon right now
A mid-range smartphone du jour, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has received the Black Friday treatment, with its price whittled down to just £291.
The handset has an average retail price of around £328, so this marks a tidy £37 price reduction – not bad for an already reasonably priced smartphone. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy A53’s fantastic price was one of the many reasons we awarded it five stars in our full-length review, so it was music to our ears to see that trimmed down further.
The Samsung Galaxy A53 gives higher-spec phones a run for their money – Senior Editor Nathan Spendelow dubbed it a “well-rounded rival to this year’s high-priced flagships”. And it’s not hard to see why: with a sumptuous 6.5in 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display and narrow bezels, it looks every inch the premium smartphone.
One standout feature of the Galaxy A53 is its phenomenal camera setup; the phone has no fewer than four rear cameras, including a primary 64MP lens, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP depth and a macro camera.
Meanwhile, battery life is something to write home about: the Galaxy A53’s 5,000mAh battery is mightily impressive, with 25W fast charging support for those perennially in a rush. When put through our gruelling video rundown test, the battery endured an outstanding 21hrs 57mins (second only to the Realme 9 Pro Plus).
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the cheapest we’ve ever seen the Samsung Galaxy A53 shift for. Our trusty price comparison steed, Camel Camel Camel, reveals it dropped to £273 earlier this year. Nonetheless, prices under £300 are rare for the A53, so if you’re looking for a powerful smartphone with a punchy camera setup at knock-down price, this offer looks very tempting indeed.
Samsung Galaxy A53 not quite ticking your boxes? This Google Pixel 6a deal makes for an alluring alternative: you can now save a whopping £100 on the mid-range handset, bringing it down from £399 to a very palatable £299. With its high-performing Google Tensor chipset and cracking suite of cameras, this is another smartphone on the mid-range-to-budget-price pipeline that gets our seal of approval.
