Apple’s 2022 iPad Air gets RARE price cut for Black Friday
Apple iPads rarely get a price cut so now is the chance to scoop a Black Friday deal
The Apple iPad Air (2022) has received a rare discount for Black Friday. Amazon has slashed the price of both the 64GB and 256GB models back to just £569 and £719 respectively. Those are savings of 15% compared to other retailers like Argos and Apple itself where the total cost remains stubbornly high – as much as £849 – following an iPad price hike earlier this year.
In other words, Amazon has essentially reduced the price of this new iPad Air to its pre-price hike RRP. Under these circumstances, “discount” might be a strong word, but we think this is a good opportunity to grab the new iPad Air at a more reasonable price.
To take advantage, you’ll need to be swift – Apple discounts are notoriously rare, meaning these iPads may sell out very quickly. Not convinced? Read on for details about why you should care about the Air.
As our full-length Apple iPad Air 5 (2022) review details, there is a lot to love about the latest and greatest iPad Air. In our view, it is the most cost-effective alternative to the iPad Pro since it still has the specifications of an elite performer, but for less money. Internally, it houses the same processor used in recent MacBook laptops – the revolutionary M1 chip, capable of performance considerably faster than the previous generations and up to par with 2021’s 12.9in iPad Pro. That’s pretty remarkable considering the 256GB version of that model still sells for over £1,000 at many retailers.
Besides that, you’ll also find a competent 12MP (f/1.8) camera (minus the flash and the secondary ultrawide lens found on the latest iPad Pro), a solid 60Hz display and a battery life almost on par with the iPad Pro. Plus, the iPad Air 5 has the ability to combine with all of Apple’s various accessories, like the Pencil 2 and Magic Keyboard, to become a true 2-in-1 laptop replacement – what more could you want from a tablet?
With the 64GB version costing £100 less via Amazon than other retailers, and a whopping £130 to be saved on the 256GB model for those after extra storage, both these deals are a real rarity – especially given the aforementioned price hike. And for hundreds extra less than the iPad Pro, the iPad Air (2022) is the clear choice for a pound-to-pound Apple tablet champion.
This deal won’t be the last of the Black Friday savings though, we can assure you of that.
