The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 come with a FREE tablet this Black Friday
Choose any of these Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Fold 4 bundles and get a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablet AND 12 months of Disney Plus for free
It’s taken a little while, but we’re finally in a place where folding phones are living up to their potential, and two of the latest and greatest, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4, are currently going for incredible prices in the Black Friday sales. But that’s not all – both phones also come with a couple of exciting freebies, offering you a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and 12 months of Disney Plus at no extra cost.
As the cheaper of the two, the Z Flip 4 gets the most enticing deals, with the top choice being unlimited data, minutes and texts for just £45/mth and £50 upfront. Considering that the 100GB data package currently sits at £50 upfront and £61/mth, this is a serious saving.
Despite being pricier, the Z Fold 4 isn’t sitting out the bargains, once again offering great prices on the more data-heavy packages. Though you can get unlimited data, minutes and texts here too (£200 upfront and £84/mth), the 100GB bundle is also worth looking at, as it’s been reduced to the same price as the 12GB package (£200 upfront and £80/mth). This effectively nets you a whopping 88GB more data for no extra cost.
While these are the best value offerings, they’re not your only choices. Both phones offer a broad selection of bundles, ranging from just 1GB of data right up to unlimited. Best of all, every single one of them is eligible for the free extras, so no matter which you choose, you won’t miss out.
For these prices, you’re getting some seriously powerful phones, with a lot more to offer than just the novelty of opening and closing them. First of all, both the Flip 4 and Fold 4 now run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, yielding terrific performance boosts over their predecessors. Gaming prowess also levels up, with both phones hitting a near-perfect 119fps average in our on-screen benchmark tests.
In short, both phones offer speedy performance and fluid gaming, so no help there in choosing between them. The obvious point of difference – and most likely to influence your choice – is the design. When folded up, the Flip 4 is a discreet, pocketable square, that unfolds into your more standard smartphone size. The Fold 4, meanwhile, starts out at that standard size and unfolds to an extra-large display, roughly the width of two phones. You can check out the physical differences in the image below.
So the easiest way to choose between this pair is going to be your intended use. In our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 review, we highlight the practical applications of the smaller size, making it easier to slip into a pocket or handbag. This is balanced out by the above-mentioned powerful performance, alongside decent cameras and excellent battery life. The displays also earn gold stars here, with excellent colour accuracy on the interior panels and a host of useful features on the small outer display, including customising the background and returning messages.
As you’ll be aware by now, you’re going to need bigger pockets for the Fold 4, both metaphorically and physically speaking. Our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 review states that the most appealing use for the expanded 7.6in display is multitasking, scrolling your Facebook feed and replying to chats in Messenger at the same time, for instance. The displays also perform well with HDR video content, producing sublime highlights that pierce through the darkest of scenes. Battery life isn’t quite as impressive as the Flip 4, but considering how large a screen it has to power, it still performs admirably.
It’s a credit to just how much this deal offers that we’re still not done talking about all the inclusions. A quick look at our Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite review will tell you that we found this to be a terrific affordable tablet. The bundled S Pen stylus is great for taking notes or sketching and the display, despite only being an IPS panel, is superbly sharp and produces bright, vibrant colours. Battery life is also something of a wonder, falling just 10 minutes short of the standard (and considerably more expensive) Galaxy Tab S6.
The final flourish to this deal is a full year’s subscription to Disney Plus. If you’re wondering what’s on there, suffice to say that we update our what’s new on Disney Plus article every month, and we’re never short of new content to shout about. November saw the final episodes of the Star Wars series Andor dropping, along with Disenchanted, the sequel over a decade in the making, and seasons three and four of the vampire mockumentary, What We Do in the Shadows.
There are lots more bargains to be had before this sales period closes its doors for another year, so head over to our main Black Friday hub to see all the top deals and biggest discounts. We have everything from mattresses and kitchen appliances to headphones and laptops covered there, so you’re sure to find something enticing.
