Despite launching back in September 2017, the iPhone 8 is still a solid option if you’re looking to upgrade and you’re bound to iOS, especially if the prices of the iPhone X, XR, Xs and Xs Max handsets make you wince. With its aluminium alloy casing and glass outer layer reinforced by steel, it’s much sturdier than its predessor, the iPhone 7 and the stereo speakers are 25% louder. It offers speedy wireless charging and is powered by the A11 Bionic chip, which Apple claims is the world’s most powerful smartphone chip. It’s “faster than the iPhone 7… [and features a] subtly slicker design” according to our 4-star review.

Is the iPhone 8 worth it?
The iPhone X may have grabbed all the headlines when the iPhone 8 was first unveiled but it’s a handset that shouldn’t be overlooked. A significant improvement on the iPhone 7, it features an A11 Bionic chip and offers QI wireless charging capabilities as well as a gorgeous design thanks to its all-glass back and True Tone HDR display. With its re-engineered aluminuim casing and glass outer layer reinforced by steel, it’s a sturdy smartphone and its IP67 certification means it’s moderately waterproof. It’s faster than the iPhone 7 with a better camera and a slicker design but it doesn’t feel as revolutionary as the iPhone X. However if you haven’t got the budget to fork out for one of Apple’s newest handsets, the iPhone 8 is a solid option.
Pros:
-Wireless charging
-Speedy processor
-Attractive design
Cons:
-It’s an expensive outlay
-The battery life is disappointing
-There’s no 3.5mm headpone jack
