The stand is height-adjustable up to a maximum height of 130mm, has 25 degrees of screen tilt and can swivel from side to side as well. You can also rotate the monitor 90 degrees for use in portrait mode, should you wish. The ability to rotate the monitor also makes it much easier to access the monitor’s connection ports, which include VGA, HDMI, dual-link DVI and DisplayPort inputs, separate headphone and microphone jacks, a two-port USB hub and a 2-port USB3 hub. Dual-link DVI and DisplayPort cables are supplied in the box, too, so you can connect it to your computer or laptop straight away.

It’s not too difficult to adjust the monitor’s picture quality, either, thanks to buttons on the underside of bezel. The monitor’s default picture profile is set to Warm, but there’s also a customisable User mode and three pre-set colour temperatures to choose from, including Normal, Cool and sRGB. You’ll find brightness, contrast and gamma options as well, and five different Eco modes, including Standard, Text, Internet, Game, Movie and Sports. You can even turn on a Break Reminder that tells you when to rest your eyes, but unfortunately there’s no option to set the break interval yourself.

The AOC Q2770Pqu is a fantastic monitor. Until now, the only 27in monitor we’ve tested that’s produced a 100 per cent colour accuracy score was the £580 Ultimate award-winning Dell U2713H, but the AOC will be welcome news for those who want an excellent high resolution monitor without breaking the bank. It rightfully claims its place as our new Ultimate monitor.
