Iiyama ProLite T2735MSC review
It's expensive, but this 27in touchscreen has great image quality and a wide selection of ports
Touchscreen monitors are becoming increasingly popular, but the Iiyama Prolite T2735MSC is the first 27in display we’ve seen that supports full ten-point touch. Finding a comfortable working angle on which to make use of the touch support is simple, thanks to the Prolite T2735MSC’s 70 degrees of screen tilt. However, the Prolite T2735MSC does take up a lot of room because the bezel sits on your desk.
The Prolite T2735MSC has a good selection of connection ports, with VGA and DVI-D inputs, an MHL-compatible HDMI input, a two-port USB3 hub and separate headphone and microphone jacks.
We must say that the 1,920×1,080-resolution touchscreen was incredibly responsive. We had no problem swiping the side of the screen to display Windows 8 shortcuts, and could perform more precise tasks such as closing and minimising windows in the corners of the screen every time.
You’ll have to be careful when using it for art applications, though, as the monitor doesn’t have any palm rejection. This means it can’t distinguish between your hand and a stylus, for instance, so you’ll have to refrain from resting your hand on the screen while you interact with it.
The monitor’s image quality was superb. We weren’t expecting great things from its AMVA panel, but our colour calibrator showed it was already displaying 98.3 per cent of the sRGB colour gamut at its default settings, which is a great score.
The T2735MSC had excellent coverage across all the main primary colour groups, with the monitor’s only slight weakness being its blue and cyan coverage. Luckily, we were able to improve this after calibrating the monitor, and increased its overall gamut score to 98.5 per cent.
