Griffin SeeSaw review

The Griffin SeeSaw is a chunky iPad stand that lets you use your iPad at an angle as if it’s a mini desktop PC. It’s intended for use by young children in classrooms and playgroups, so it’s big, bulky and brightly coloured. Inserting the iPad can be a bit tricky, but once in it the iPad is held fast.

There are buttons on the SeeSaw to match those on the iPad and there are holes for you to access the iPad’s various ports to charge it and attach it to speakers. Annoyingly, we couldn’t insert the audio cable from our speaker system into the iPad because of its shape; you need a long, thin cable in order to do so.

We used the iPad to watch catch-up TV, play games and type notes, and were pleased to see that the case didn’t move backwards on our desk. This makes it ideal for its intended use in the classroom. We also liked the angle, and found working and playing on the iPad comfortable. The case’s carry handle makes it easy for children to carry it around, and its hollow design means it should be light enough to carry.

Neither the case nor the iPad is indestructible, but the case should afford some protection should your child drop it, unless the iPad’s dropped on its screen.

If you want a tough iPad case that lets your child work on it as if it’s a PC, then the Griffin SeeSaw is ideal.
