Awesome Note review
We review Awesome Note, an awesome note application for your awesome iPhone.
The large screen on the iPhone makes it pretty useful for jotting down notes.
On the flipside, many people aren?€t fans of the touch-sensitive keyboard which can be a bit fiddly. Awesome Note is an app for people that use the iPhone?€s standard but find it a little bland on the eye and slender in the feature list.
Awesome Note expands on the simple functionality seen in the iPhone?€s standard note taking applet. The most striking difference in between Awesome Note and the standard app is the interface. The developers have added in a whole host of backgrounds for you to type your ideas onto, ranging from stylish floral designs and patterns to blackboards and stamp collecting books. The backgrounds are well-drawn and add a welcome touch of visual flavor to note taking on the iPhone.
Awesome Note provides better organisational capabilities too. You can create folders choosing a name, icon and colour that the folder will appear in making them quicker to identify. Each note is labeled with the date that it was last edited and there is a handy sort button which will put them on chronological order.
From the home screen you can select a folder, create a new note which can then be added to a folder or use the ?€quick memo feature. The latter of these functions provides four pages which you can jot ideas down onto and will stay there without having to add them to a folder. When you?€ve developed a note sufficiently and decided where you want to put it, a ?€save as note?€ button will allow you to do so.
Awesome Note will let you write in 13 different fonts and 38 different sizes, a vast improvement on the iPhone?€s standard note app. To finish the feature set off, you can also email your notes directly from the app. Many apps with email functionality first exit and go to the iPhone?€s push-email function to send the mail but Awesome Note doesn?€t need to which is pretty?€well, awesome. The keyboard can be used in either landscape or portrait orientation too.
Awesome Note?€s interface looks great and a piece of cake to use. There is extensive note taking functionality to the standard app which is also a good thing. All these note taking goodies come at a price though. If you occasionally use your iPhone for notes then you?€ll probably find the standard note app fit for purpose but for the notaholics among you Awesome Note could prove worthwhile.
