LG announces 7in, 8in and 10in G Pad tablets, releases new G Watch video

G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 all set to get official launch at the MedPl 2014 trade show in Monaco

Android tablets come in all shapes and sizes, but to date LG has only had the G Pad 8.3 to compete with 7in, 8in and 10in devices from the likes of Google, Samsung and Sony. That looks set to change this month, as the company has just announced three new tablets; the G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1.

Revealed in a press release posted to the LG Newsroom, the new tablet range will sit alongside the G Pad 8.3, giving LG a tablet in every major screen size. Although the company has yet to reveal specification details, it has confirmed all three models will include QPair 2.0, a newer version of the existing QPair app which syncs notifications between smartphones and tablets, and Knock Code, a new method of locking your device using a series of taps.

“Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizeable screens without compromising portability,” Dr. Jong-seok Park, LG Mobile President said. “Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritise portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts.”

All three are set to be officially revealed at this week’s MedPI 2014 trade show in Monaco, with price and availability expected to be announced at the same time.

LG also posted a new G Watch video this morning, highlighting the wearable’s compatibility with all Android devices, waterproof metal body and lightweight build.

Unfortunately the video still leaves us in the dark regarding a price or official release date, which has yet to be confirmed by LG.
