ViewSonic launches ‘try for free’ ViewPad 7 campaign
It will even pay the postage
If you’re not sure what all the fuss about tablet computers is about, the new ViewSonic scheme may be just what you’re after.
With the Try for Free scheme, people can try a Android 2.2-powered Viewsonic Viewpad 7 for up to 30 days and return it if they’re not happy.
All units must be bought from a retailer and ViewSonic will refund the money provided a claim form is completed and the tablet is returned within 30 days of purchase. To make things easier ViewSonic will even pay the return postage cost (up to £10).
ViewSonic is hoping that this scheme will convince people to jump onto the tablet bandwagon, while avoiding buying an Apple iPad 2.
“There are many people that have heard about the new Tablet trend but for various reasons have not yet dived in. Working with Google, we want people to have a good first Tablet experience, risk free. Customers taking up the offer can use our devices for 30 days free of charge in order to overcome any initial learning curves and really start to appreciate the potential of Android on a great device. The ViewPad 7 is a perfect start into the world of touch technology,” said James Coulson, European marketing manager.
It’s a brave move from the company, particularly as the ViewPad 7 is a rebadged version of the cheaper Linx Commtiva N700.
