JBL unveils new Live 770NC and Live 670NC headphones
The latest over-ear and on-ear noise-cancelling headphones from JBL’s Live series are set to release in late September
JBL has announced the latest additions to its Live headphones series: the JBL Live 770NC and JBL Live 670NC. The pair build on the success of their predecessors – the Live 760NC and Live 660NC – and offer active noise cancellation (ANC) at a reasonable price.
The Live 770NC are over-ear headphones, while the Live 670NC sit on your ears. Both models deliver JBL’s Signature Sound via 40mm dynamic drivers and there’s support for JBL’s Spatial Sound too, which adds an enhanced 360-degree listening effect to audio regardless of source or content type. We weren’t blown away by JBL’s take on spatial audio when listening to music on the JBL Tour One M2 headphones earlier this year, though movies and games fared considerably better.

The Live 770NC and 670NC also support Harman’s audio personalisation tool, Personi-Fi 2.0, along with an adaptive noise-cancelling system that adjusts the level of attenuation in real-time based on the amount of ambient sound in your surroundings. Additionally, there’s a Smart Ambient mode that helps enhance your awareness of what’s going on around you.

Both pairs of headphones operate wirelessly over Bluetooth 5.3 and support Bluetooth multipoint, meaning you can connect to two devices simultaneously and switch between them freely. LE Audio support is due to arrive in the near future, while both models house a pair of beamforming microphones for handling calls.
Particularly noteworthy is the Live 770NC and Live 660NC’s 65-hour battery life. That figure drops to 50 hours when ANC is enabled but that’s still an impressive amount of stamina, and with just five minutes of charging providing up to four hours of listening time, you won’t ever find yourself running on empty for long.
Available in black, white, blue, and sandstone, the Live 770NC and Live 670NC will be available for purchase from 31 August, with the LIVE 770NC priced at £160 and the LIVE 670NC coming in at £120.
Both look like appealing mid-range options, but the proof will be in the testing and we hope to have samples soon, so be sure to check back for our full reviews in due course.
