Brand-new Apple Watch Series 8 gets RARE Black Friday deal
This might be your only chance to grab the Apple Watch Series 8 for less in the Black Friday sales
It’s no secret that the Apple Watch Series 8 is the best smartwatch around. With high-end fitness features, user-friendly UI and a lavish design, it’s the very pinnacle of Apple’s wearable achievements to date, so it stands to reason that we were all hoping for at least a small discount in this year’s Black Friday sales.
And a small discount is precisely what we’ve received. It’s not a huge amount, but Amazon has dropped the price of the 45mm Apple Watch Series 8 to just £429 for a limited time. That’s a modest price decrease of £20, and the first cost reduction we’ve seen since it was released on 16 September this year.
Got a smaller wrist and fancy spending even less? The good news is that the 41mm version is also on offer, although the price reduction isn’t quite as good. Usually going for £419, you can save yourself £10 in the Black Friday sales and pick up the 41mm Apple Watch Series 8 instead for £399.
Both of these deals are available across four colours with rubber wristbands: Midnight, Silver, Starlight and (Product) Red.
New features for this model include a newly upgraded S8 chip, as well as the addition of an accelerometer and gyroscope, which – like the new iPhone 14 – can detect if you’ve been in a car crash or had a fall. An extra temperature sensor also provides more advanced menstrual cycle tracking for women.
Extra fitness metrics are available courtesy of watchOS9, too, and the new Low Power mode delivers up to 36 hours of use, effectively doubling the usable battery life of 18 hours. In our review, Jonathan Bray called the Apple Watch Series 8 “a fabulous smartwatch and the best all-rounder for iPhone owners” and it’s pretty easy to see why.
