Three deal: This Google Pixel 6a plan is LUDICROUSLY cheap

This Three deal gets you the new Google Pixel 6a with unlimited data for a mere £30/mth with nothing to pay upfront

Three deals on smartphones don’t get much better than this: you can currently get the new Google Pixel 6a with unlimited 5G data for an eye-boggling £30/mth on a two-year plan via the third-party site Affordable Mobiles, with nothing to pay upfront. That’s a brilliant bargain that, by our reckoning, will save you a whopping £183 compared to if you bought the smartphone and SIM separately. Even better, there are no cashback hoops to jump through – what you see is what you’ll pay for the whole of the contract.

As we explain below, we found a lot to like about the cut-price Google handset, awarding it four stars out of five and a coveted Expert Reviews Recommended award for its speedy internals, unbeatable cameras for the price and superb screen. As for Three, it now offers the fastest and widest 5G coverage in the UK, according to Opensignal’s latest round of tests.

All of that adds up to a terrific Three deal, but you’ll have to act quickly because it won’t be around forever.

As we explain in our in-depth Google Pixel 6a review, the cut-price version of the stunning Pixel 6 contains the same own-brand Tensor processor as its more expensive siblings, meaning it delivered the same performance punch as the top-of-the-range Pixel 6 Pro. Meanwhile, a sumptuous 6.1in 1080p display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, keen price and cameras that are streets ahead of the similarly priced competition meant we were looking at a magnificent mid-range handset.

It’s not perfect, though: the screen, while colour-accurate, only has a refresh rate of 60Hz, there’s still no face unlock (why, Google?) and the Pixel 6a lacks a microSD slot to boost the storage. Still, those quibbles are easy to overlook when you’re getting this much bang for your buck.

Meanwhile, in our most recent Three review, we praised the network’s rapidly expanding 5G coverage and value for money – something this deal aptly proves. Disappointing customer support scores and 4G speeds that lag behind the best were downsides, but most customers were satisfied with their service.
