Samsung slashes the prices of Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G by up to £270 for Black Friday

 For one day only, Samsung has dropped the price of two phones in its foldable and flip phone range: the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Galaxy Z Flip. For Black Friday (27 November) you can get 15% off the price of each when bought directly from Samsung.

This may not seem like a huge saving but both of these handsets usually cost in excess of £1,400, so 15% does still equate to more than £200 in both cases. Most importantly, though, this is the first time Samsung’s foldable handsets have received a price cut, so why wait?

Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G (Was £1,799, now £1,529)

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G has similar underlying specifications as its predecessor – a 6.2in front cover display and a 7.3in immersive screen – but is more powerful, has a better battery life and comes in a range of colours. This includes Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black with the choice of bronze, silver, gold, blue or red hinges (at no added cost).

It’s usually available with 256GB of storage for £1,799 which drops to £1,529 with the 15% discount.

Galaxy Z Flip (Was £1,399, now £1,189)

As its name suggests, the Galaxy Z Flip is a flip phone, rather than one of Samsung’s folding phones with side hinges. This means its hinge runs widthways across the phone rather than from the edge.

On the outside of the case, on the top side, is a small secondary screen. This shows the time, battery status and other notifications. Once the phone is opened you can use the handset like a regular device.

It’s available in 4G and 5G variants, in either Mystic Bronze or Mystic Black and, on top of the 15% discount available for Black Friday, if you buy the Galaxy Z Flip you’ll get 10% off any other Samsung tablet, watch, computing or audio product on top of any existing Black Friday savings on those products.
