The May Day bank holiday deals have landed.
As part of their respective bank holiday sales, retailers, including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, and AO have slashed prices across a range of tech, beauty, electrical, home and garden and fashion must-haves.
There are also discounts to be had on packages from the best broadband providers. We’ve scoured these bank holiday sales and handpicked some of the very best bank holiday deals. We’ll update as more offers come in.

Get 12 months of Plusnet broadband plus a £65 reward card for £18.99 a month
As usual, Plusnet is leading the way when it comes to bank holiday deals. For just £18.99 a month for 12 months you can get its Unlimited Broadband package with free activation and no download limits. The average download speed is around 10Mbits/sec, so isn’t lightning fast, but for this price, it’s more than adequate. If you sign up before Tuesday, you can also get a £65 Plusnet Reward Card, which is a pre-paid MasterCard.
Get a free Amazon Echo and a £60 reward card with BT’s Superfast Fibre 2
Until 9 May, BT is offering Reward Card worth up to £90 with selected broadband packages. Or, if you sign up for Superfast Fibre 2 you’ll get a free Amazon Echo (worth £89.99) as well as a £60 Reward Card. Superfast Fibre 2 promises an average speed of 67Mbits/sec, unlimited monthly usage, a Smart Hub and BT has committed to no price rises throughout 2019. This package costs £45.99 for 18 months before the contract rises to £53.99. You’ll also need to pay £9.99 for the postage costs of the hub and any Wi-Fi booster discs.
Get the UK’s lowest fixed price fibre from TalkTalk
For a limited time, TalkTalk is offering its Faster Fibre broadband package for £22.95 a month, for 18 months, which includes the price of line rental. This comes with average download speeds of 36Mbits/sec. It’s the UK’s lowest fixed price fibre package.
AO bank holiday deals
At the time of writing, there were a staggering 713 AO bank holiday deals live on the site. You can filter these deals either by which are the “hottest”, to the amount of money you will save and the product’s rating.
Save up to £120 on Philips and Samsung TVs
Top of the pile is a fantastic bank holiday deal on the Philips 50″ Smart Ambilight 4K UHD TV. It comes with an impressive customer rating of 4.7 out of 5 and is on sale for £479 (down from £599). Alternatively you can save £50 on the Samsung UE55U8021 55in Smart 4K UHD TV, which is now £429.
Get 26% off HP laptops
Other highlighted deals include 26% off the price of the HP 15.6in laptop, was £379, now £279 in the AO bank holiday deals. The smaller 14in HP model is also on sale, at £349. A saving of £100 with £40 cashback. We have found this slightly cheaper (£329) at Argos, but it doesn’t include the cashback offer.
Save up to £130 on Samsung washing machines and Smeg range cookers
When it comes to home appliances, the 8kg ecobubble washing machine from Samsung is now £369, reduced from £499. While the Smeg 90cm Dual Fuel range cooker is £100 cheaper at £849.
Amazon bank holiday deals
Amazon isn’t running a dedicated bank holiday deals event, but there are still great discounts to be had across the online store.
Get a free Amazon Echo Dot when you sign up to Amazon’s Music Unlimited Family Plan
For a limited time, when you sign up for Amazon’s Music Unlimited Family Plan you’ll get a free Amazon Echo Dot, worth £49.99. You just need to pay 99p to sign up. A monthly subscription then costs £14.99 but you can cancel at any time.
Save up to 50% on Flymo gardening tools and mowers
For the next week, Amazon has teamed up with Flymo to offer some fantastic savings on everything you’ll need to tend to your garden. In addition to 50% off a range of gardening tools, and up to 35% off outdoor lights, the Fly EasiCut 610XT electric hedge trimmer is now £58.99, down from £92.99 – a saving of 37%. The Flymo Easi Glide 330 lawn mower is 30% cheaper at £76.49, and the Bosch EasyAquatak 110 pressure washer is now £61.99, down from £89.99. Other savings can be found one the grass trimmers, power tools, and more.
Get £200 off a 55in Hisense TV
Other notable bank holiday deals found on the site include a £200 saving on the Hisense H55U7AUK 4K UHD Smart TV, was £699, now £499. The 50in model is now £160 cheaper at £439 and the 65in model is £889, down from £999.
Buy the Jabra Elite 65t wireless Bluetooth earbuds for £125
It’s no wonder the Jabra Elite 65t wireless Bluetooth earbuds are on sale on Amazon (after all, they come with Alexa built-in) and at £125 the current price is the lowest we’ve been able to find. They usually retail for £149.99.
Argos bank holiday deals
Like Amazon, there aren’t any specific bank holiday deals, but the retailer is offering savings as part of its Big Red sale and discount codes.
Save 20% on indoor and garden furniture
Across the bank holiday weekend, get 20% off select indoor furniture – with code FURN20 – or 20% off garden furniture, with the code GFURN20. Minimum spend applies.
Get an iPhone 7 for under £400 or a SIM-free Google Pixel XL for under £200
The best bank holiday deals in the Big Red sale are those found on mobile phones. These include a 20% saving on the price of a SIM-free Google Pixel XL – was £249.95, now £199.95 – and £50 off the price of a 64GB iPhone XS. You can get an iPhone 7 for £389.95 (a saving of £110), or an iPad Pro 10.5in in rose gold, which is selling for £50 less at £919. Elsewhere the 14in HP laptop is £329, reduced from £429.
John Lewis bank holiday deals
John Lewis has some amazing offers as part of the bank holiday deals line-up including discounts on nursery and baby equipment, home and garden products, appliances, beauty and more.
Save up to £200 on Microsoft laptops and tablets
The best bank holiday deal we’ve found on John Lewis is a £200 savings across the Microsoft Surface Laptop and tablet range. For example, a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 tablet is now £200 cheaper at £949, while the price of the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 now starts at £1,879. The superb Surface Book 2 now starts at £2,149.
Save up to £700 on Samsung TVs
In electrical, you can save up to £700 on a range of 4K TVs including the Samsung QE65Q900R, the 75in Samsung QE75Q900R, the 65in Samsung QE65Q7FN and Samsung QE65Q8DN. When you buy the Sony Bravia KD55XG9505 4K UHD TV, you’ll get a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 over-ear headphones for free.
Get up to £50 off best-selling Chromebooks
Other laptops and computers featured in the bank holiday deals include the 2017 Apple iMac all-in-one desktop. This was £1,949 and is now £300 cheaper at £1,599. The Asus Chromebook C423 is now £199.99 (a saving of £50) and the similar Acer Chromebook CB311-8HT-C2DT is also £50 cheaper at £229.99.
Mothercare bank holiday deals
Mothercare has knocked 10% off its best prams and pushchairs, its best travel cots and its best car seats.
Included in this promotion is the Silver Cross Wayfarer pram. Exclusive to Mothercare, with the 10% discount you’re paying £697 rather than £775. To get these savings, enter the code MAYDAY at the checkout. There’s £35 off the Mothercare Journey Edit pram and pushchair as well as £45 off the Chicco Trio Best Friend travel system.
Other prams and pushchairs are offering even greater savings. The Cosatto Woosh stroller usually retails for £199.95 but is on offer for £134.95. The Silver Cross Pursuit pram is exclusive to Mothercare and is on sale for £475 (down from £650). Meanwhile, the Silver Cross Wave pram and pushchair would normally set you back £1,100 but is on sale for £825.
